I'm waiting for you to present evidence for this 'logical' assumption. Evidently, DCE is now a Nolan shrine and WB can't release a successful CBM without him (even though Superman I & II, Superman Returns, Watchmen, 300, Batman '89, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, V for Vendetta, etc have all found critical, financial and/or pop-culture prosperity and fortune).

5 of those movies you mentioned were made at least 17 years ago.
The reception to Watchmen and Superman Returns were lukewarm at best, with the latter being considered by most to be a flop.
The only film you mentioned that was made within the past couple years that gained any sort of success to speak of was V for Vendetta, which isn't even a DC superhero movie.
So his point stands that Nolans batfilms are pretty much the only successful recent superhero films they've had, outside of V for Vendetta if you really want to count that.

Yes but dawn ostroff rejected it after upn and wb formed. For two other pilots that fits their demography. WB have their hands tied. Its not like they can force her to take up the pilot if she thinks its not going to work.

Yes. WB owns 50%, CBS the other half. It seems strange for CBS to own two networks, but the CW was founded before the Viacom split. Before then, Paramount Television owned that half.

Yes but Dawn Ostroff was the one that rejected the Aquaman pilot. I have complete faith in the new president at WB, Mark Pedowitz. He was the one that wanted to have more male viewers and shows alike. Which is why he was actively looking for a superhero TV show - Green Arrow. Additionally, Deadman by Eric Kripke is still in development and he is also looking for yet another comic book character up on the small screen.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt returns to television for a Nightwing series written by Jonathan Nolan. Once JN's "Person Of Interest" is over.

Now that's something i'd like to see. A few seasons at the most. Not too many episodes. A dozen or so for each season.

I can dig that. If done right you don't really need him, but if you're in Gotham you need Batman's rogue gallery.

And keeping Batman out of it is a plus imo. Batman in that universe will always be Bale/Bruce and a lot of people dont want to see Blake become that. Then you have the reboot on film which is a seperate universe, tied to JL. So a dream idea would be to let that take place on film while Nightwing has his own tv series. 2 seperate characters, 2 seperate universes, but 1 thing in common....Gotham City.

I would also work it out so the chosen rogues for Nightwing don't interfere with whoever villain is roaming around in the solo Bat movies. So you avoid confusion or repetition. If Riddler or Freeze is used in the reboot then they're avoided for the tv series. If the reboot is open to fantastical characters like Clayface and Man-Bat then Nightwings tv series focuses more on the Hush's, Black Masks & Penguins of Gotham. Barbara Gordon can be used as a love interest for Blake, while Essen and Bullock are brought in to interact with the reboot's Commissioner Gordon.

Yeah. Either WB is still negotiating Affleck's terms for JL, or they're approaching the other folks on their shortlist.

And I don't know why people think Affleck will play one of the leading heroes. He said he doesn't want to play another superhero after the disaster that was Daredevil (although that was back in 2009), so that rules him out playing a good guy if he insists on acting in his directorial films.

Affleck would be an interesting choice. I can't stand him as an actor, but the Town was a good movie and Argo looks very good too, and might be a best picture nominee.

I really can't see them booting Batman from a JLA film. Yes, there are complications, but Batman *is* a known member of the JLA by the GA insofar as they are aware of the team, and he's also the most marketable character DC has currently. Not including him would be a *huge* risk, because now you are selling something that looks even more like "Superman and his little known sidekicks."
