Beware the Batman - Part 1

Games was a great episode, probably the best of the series (i've only seen the episodes up to Games)

i was just thinking... maybe this show would've been better received if it was a Nightwing show instead. If they wanted a show that focuses on lesser known Batman villains, that would've been a good format for a Nightwing show.

A Nightwing show would feel wrong with Joker Two Face and Penguin showing up, but Professor Pyg and Deathstroke on a Nightwing show would actually make sense!

A Nightwing animated series that uses some of Nightwing's foes from his solo run, his enemies from Teen Titans, and lesser known Batman villains would be perfect.

A Nightwing animated series has so much potential. It might be too heavy for a kids show, but my idea is for Jason to be killed before the series begins, and Nightwing and Batgirl are kicked off the team. Batman refuses to work with his partners because of what happened to Jason. So Batgirl and Nightwing move to Bludhaven away from Bruce so they can continue to fight crime. Ideally, various members of the Teen Titans would show up from time to time, and there could even be a Teen Titans episode a ways into the show.

It seems weird we've never gotten a Nightwing show, it just makes sense!

So right now, we have no idea what the next animated Batman related show will be. i bet they'll announce something at SDCC. HOPEFULLY it's Nightwing or a new Batman series that focuses more on his classic villains

Inevitably, the show was going to be trashed, cos

a) the Young Justice cancellation
b) being the billionth animated show featuring Batman. The character is DC's Wolverine and has been over-saturated for some time now.

I don't agree with the second part at all. I guarantee that another Batman series could be well received as long as it's well written.

Ideally, the next Batman animated series would be a definitive take like BTAS, introducing all the major villains, instead of focusing on such minor guys first.

The Batman is the closest thing to BTAS and that show ran for five season. If they do a modernized revamped version of Batman in the same sort of way that BTAS and The Batman did it... we could have another successful show.

Beware the Batman made some changes with the supporting cast that i wasn't crazy about.

Just give us another show similar to The Batman or BTAS and animated Batman's future is ensured.

I really don't think kids watching cartoon network are going to be burnt out on Batman for a long time... as long as it's well written like TB or BTAS

Young Justice has nothing to do with Beware the Batman.

This show got cancelled due to a few very simple things:

- The cost (Around $20-22 million or 26 episodes).
- A severe lack of merchandise.
- Mediocre ratings.
- CN has lost interest in action cartoons.

I just started watching this and love how dark it is. Is this Season 1?

Sad indeed. It's refreshing (and ballsy) to see that they're using villains many people aren't familiar with.

I actually would've loved a series starting Dick Grayson as Batman.

Considering Pyg didn't have the Circus of Strange, though, he wouldn't be essential as a Dick Grayson villain to contrast with his circus past.

Reminder that "new" episodes start tonight at 2:30am on Toonami.

They're even throwing the Batman Beyond short before it as a bonus.

the first and only season, sad to say... :csad:
*****ing sad, it is! My god, we had 5 seasons of "the batman", 5seasons of "batman brave and the bold", but only one of beware the batman, which is really really cool.
To boycott WB is something that keep making more and more sense to me. I only keep an eye on their productions briefly now.
There was a time, they were doing so hot stuff!
I remember how suspicious I was when the first promos of Beware the Batman got out, and I finallycompletely bought it. The mood was so unique, so different. And for the first time in a loooong time I thought batman AND bruce Wayne were absolute cool.
Plus : there was now opportunity for superb storylines like the outsiders or developping two-face, or any other cool villains, or Kobra, or just any excuse to use and explore this cool gigantic 3D Gotham City.
Too bad.

Technically, we only got three seasons of Brave and the Bold. Their seasonal orders were just bigger than The Batman's.

The show's look never grew on me but the final arc with Deathstroke was really good.

I would love to see a Batman series on HBO in the style of the late 90's animated Spawn series.

Hell even a Batman series based on the look of Gotham Knight would be interesting.

Wouldn't that be kind of expensive, though? I can see that art for a short or a DTV, but it wouldn't translate well for an animated series.

Is anyone else catching this show on Toonami? They just finished the first arc and it's interesting seeing people reacting to it for the first time.
