I guess I'll start it. I'm gonna spoiler it too, ONLY because it's so early.

Secret Invasion #7 -
Battle, battle, battle, fight, fight, fight. All action issue so not much to talk about. There were some great moments though. The highlight for me was seeing the Avengers back fighting side by side, Cap, Thor and Iron Man. Iron takes charge and it doesn't last long because his armor is not up to full power and has to re-tool. Fury and Osborn tell each other they should BOTH be in jail. Skrullowjacket gets his, via a shot through the eye compliments of Bullseye, which was cool because it looked like he was gunning for Spidey.

Queen Skrulldow Woman vesus Wolverine, where she fries his arm and half of his face was short and inconclusive. Funny part though, Spidey's talking to Iron Fist saying, "Eh, things aren't that bad because at least The Watcher hasn't shown up yet." And as he explains who Watcher is, guess who shows up?

I had a question, as Jarvis and Jessica Jones are in Avengers Tower watching the battle on CNN, she decides to join the fray as Jewel and leave the baby with Jarvis. Which was nice to see her and Cage get back together, but no one knows Jarvis is a Skrull? Stark didn't know? I find that hard to believe...

Noh-Varr shows up and "In the name of the Kree Empire, I tell you invading Hordes that this FIGHT IS OVER!!", which rallies the troops and Avengers Assemble but no one says it. :cmad: Young Avenger Hawkeye is hurt and Vision takes her to safety, while Clint Barton takes her bow, mask off, and takes out half a dozen Skrulls....including the Queen with an arrow through the face! Which then dying Skrullowjacket engages his secret weapon. The Wasp is activated with the super new growth serum Hank gave her awhile back and she becomes Giant Woman, but....she exudes a strange glowing energy that causes great pain to everyone around her. As we see Skrull Jarvis holding baby Cage saying "we came here to die so God's will could be done. They just don't understand. There is only one way this ends. They die, we die, it doesn't matter. As long as the words of our Prophets come true."

To be continued... I liked it. LOTS of action and can't wait for the conclusion.

How the hell do your comic shops get stuff this early? The guy at my shop is usually still working on bagging and boarding most of the non-subscription comics by the time I get there at 5:30 in the afternoon.

So by the looks of what happened in SI 7 and Thunderbolts it looks as if Osborn could possibly be the new director of Sheild.

I hope this is the return of the true Hawkeye...if it is, then I'll forgive Bendis for ruining him in the first place.

You got SI #7 a week earlier?

SHIELD as a villainous organization might be interesting. Osborn might actually start to feel less small-time to me if it's done well, too.

This could elevate him to Lex Luthor levels, still a nutcase but...

Tony is gonna get fired, Fury is still an outlaw, Maria Hill isn't ready, Norman being Director of Sheild is whats gonna start the Dark Reign.

Wow, I hadn't thought of that...and it makes some sort of dark sense. I still wouldn't put Osborn anywhere near where Lex Luthor is in the grand scheme of things...but making Norman the director of shield would do wonders for making him one of the major threats to the world.

Now I hope that is the direction they are going.

Yeah, talk to me after he becomes President of the United ****ing States.

Actually who am I kidding? It's the Marvelverse, he could rape a baby on live TV and get elected.

Pretty sure thats where they are going, if you read this weeks Thunderbolts after SI you'll basically see they basically spell it out for you. Tony ends up looking like a coward while Osborn ends up looking good.

You gotta give Marvel props, make their heroes look like morons, and make their villians accepted as the saviors of the universe. :down

I don't usually get them that early, but my morning appointment cancelled and they open at 11. There they were, on the shelf and ready to go. My LCS in Michigan gets them on Tuesday night and are all set to sell Wednesday am. Or if them get them Wednesday morning, they set them up before they open, and if the shop opens at 11 or 12, like they do near me in Florida, that gives them plenty of time. 5:30 seems a little late to me. Maybe he should use his time more wisely. :cwink:

As far as Norman being Director of SHIELD, I could see that happening. The gov't put him in charge of the T-Bolts so they trust him or at least think of him in a leadership role. And if Tony Stark and the "heroes" missed the Skrull infiltration, it makes sense they would want a more hardcore and ruthless leader to protect us. Makes sense to me.

Tell you what though, I would not want to be Peter Parker with Osborn and SHIELD behind him coming after me. Then again, he wouldn't go after Parker cuz Ol' Norman can't put two and two together anymore, right Dan Slott? Something screwy is going on there...

I personally thought SI 7 was a blast, lots of action and beautiful art by Yu. I just have one question: SI is almost over, and there's one very big plot thread that Bendis has forgotten about, what's the deal with Luke Cage's baby, are we ever gonna get any closure on that or did Bendis forget? If Luke's baby is a skrull then that means Jessica's a sleeper skrull, but why would the skrull's replace her of all people?

You know, I completely agree with you. Take what's happening in SI, Thunderbolts and Deadpool and they're definately letting Norman out of the Spider-Man box and into the MU in a big way (and a very well deserved one regardless of what corp might say).

Maybe it depends on the size of the store. Is yours really big?

My main shop doesn't bag & board the nonsubscription books. And my other shop only bags 'em, no boards.

I doubt the baby is a Skrull. Cage isn't. And I doubt Bendis would do that to his prized Jessica Jones. I got a short term memory when it comes to this stuff, but what indication did we get that there was something up with the baby? She did have green eyes when Jarvis was holding her, but I don't think that means anything.

The only reason to replace Jessica is to have a Skrull on the team. But they already had the Queen in NA and Jarvis in the Tower in MA, so yeah, I don't see why they'd need Jessica Jones?

No the baby is definately a skrull. One of the post civil war issues was billed as having the "most important page this year" or something and on it the baby's eyes went green. It was the very first skrull reveal. Though I wouldn't put it past bendis to loeb the hell out of this story and just never address that point.

Oh yeah, forgot about that.

Still, if the Skrull's already got into the teams, why the baby? I guess you could argue to get closer to Cage and Jessica Jones, but are those two THAT important? I mean, to people other than Bendis?

"loeb the hell out of this story"...Heh.

To Bendis, who writes SI...yes Cage and Jones are hugely important to them. But if the baby is a skrull, does this mean Jessica is...or does this mean they replaced the baby?

So either they replaced the Cages' baby or Jessica boinked a skrull in Luke's clothing.

My shop used to be fairly big but it went out of business. My current shop is a little hole in the wall that seems to treat its customers better than the previous place, will order just about anything, and gives away free bags and boards on everything, yet somehow has no financial problems whatsoever. I chalk it up to location, since the new shop is smaller and is in this plaza with a tiny parking lot just off the side of a major intersection, which makes it kind of a b**** to get to after work during rush hour.

Is that Ionic energy that Janet is giving off, it kinda looks like it.

What's up with Sentry? We see The Void at the end of Mighty Avengers 14, looking like he was there to help maybe because its the opposite of what the Sentry is doing. Will we see The Sentry/Void make an appearance in SI 8?

I hope neither Luke nor Jessica is a Skrull, and their baby just got changelinged.
