Bought/Thought for 9/6/07; SPOILERS INSIDE!!

Somebody obviously didn't read the last issue of FNSM.

And Capt. Obvious made a post to point that out and pad their post count.:woot::up:

Incredible Hulk 110: I didn't find this issue to be bad, but I have a lot of problems with it. First, Banner is always running numbers in Hulk's head so he doesn't harm any innocents? WTF?! WHAT-THE-F*¢**ng-**¢*?!?! Oh-kaaaaaaay, I know it's a way to try an retcon the recent deaths he has been responsible for but that was really lame. There were/are States in the MU that have/had "Hulk insurance" because of the green one's rampages. It's not implausible for there to be casualties. Marvel is trying to pull off a Hal Jordan with this stunt.

Second, Gamma World?! WTF?! Everyone, including Amadeus, was pissed that they sent Hulk off to another planet so he could be isolated. Well, obviously the best solution is to...isolate the Hulk on Earth.:confused: "I'm teh genius for STEALING money and coming up with an idea to make a reservation for gamma freaks. YAY! I luvs the Hulkster!!!!1!11!one." Soooo, he could still rampage on the Earth if he wants but then high tail it to his super duper "tree house" and go "nyah, nyah, you can't caaaatch me". Oh, wait, he just wants to be left alone. Right.

I wonder if Amadeus said all those nasty things at the Hulk so he would get angry enough to fight whatever stuff Scorpion injected the Hulk with. Seems more to me like that was the reason and not to get him as angry as he could go and see if Hulk would kill him.

Somebody obviously read Hulk #110.

hulk #110 - i enjoyed it alot

I also bought the second trade of the current Checkmate series, and damn is it awesome. For those many numbers of you who still aren't reading Checkmate, and I know exactly who you are -- yes, I do -- right now is the perfect opportunity to start getting into this book.
You know if a series can stay awesome in spite of a crossover with something Judd Winick wrote, it's some serious quality work.

Basically, only it's got much more of a political side. In fact, the whole organization is set up like chess, and the white pieces are political officers while the black pieces are ops. So the Black King and the Black Queen can authorize missions, but the White King and the White Queen can only deal with political situations. Of course, given the nature of geopolitics, the two sides of the agency tend to work together on different aspects of the same issues. Greg Rucka is fantastic at fictional politics, too, so it's pretty intriguing.

I'm sure it's well written and everything, but that sounds utterly ******ed.

I bet if it was a Marvel comic it wouldn't sound utterly ******ed to him.

You come off as very ignorant sometimes dude.

A political/spy organization set up like chess? Please. Take a step back, pretend you know nothing of the series and tell me that sounds awesome.

That sounds awesome.

My first exposure to Checkmate was Maxwell Lord getting pwned to be honest with everyone. When I learned of the set-up, I thought "Wow, that is pretty creative."

Dude, I hate to bring it out, but this seems to be a case of:

What, did chess rape your dog or something?

I didn't really know anything about Checkmate a year ago and that concept sounded awesome to me. Geopolitics are pretty much a chess game, so I thought it was a cool allusion.

You should know by now, posting pictures mean nothing to me or my work's firewall.

And good job at pretending you're as clueless to teh set up as I am, by explaining how you were exposed to it by another character that I'm not aware of. Sorry I think you're favorite book sounds lame without reading it. :whatever:

The blantant analogy is what sounds stupid. I like subtle things.

I like how you pretty much admit to making judgments based on nothing. Like our last little debate where you based the quality of DC's art on their covers and their coloring.

And how is it my fault that you're not aware to who Maxwell Lord is because of you're irrational hate for everything DC?

Did I judge the actual book? No, I didn't. I mentioned that it's most likely very well written, just that Corp's description of it sounded stupid. How is that an irrational fear of DC?

A team of 4 people where each of their powers represents the basic 4 elements? ******ed!
I thought you were talking about Captain Planet for an instant and I was all set to rape you with chess. Also, I can't count.

Never badmouth the Captain:cmad:.

I said hate. Interesting. Why do you fear DC PJ? Do you think you might like it if you gave it a try? Did someone dressed as Superman do something inappropriate to you? Lets get this out in the open.

That's your response? Wow.

That's your response? Wow.

That's you dodging the question?

It's quite simple, you've made it abundantly clear you hate everything DC. That's a fact, I'm sure you won't even try to deny it. Tropico brought up this point but you seem to have ignored it. Now you can deny it, but if Checkmate was a Marvel concept, you'd be far more willing to look past the "******ed" set-up and try to enjoy it. Nevertheless it's not a Marvel title, it's a DC title, so you automatically hate it, even with the admitting it's probably "well written and everything". I found it interesting in a Freudian type of way that you saw "hate" and thought "fear". That's not a typo. Why would you fear a comic book? You tell me PJ.

What question? You completely dodged my original question, instead pointing out one word change. You can't claim that I have no basis in how I debate when you're not even willing to. That's grade school ****, dude.

It's interesting that you can see, "I bet it's good, but that description sounds bad" and interpret "OH NO! PJ hates it just because it's DC and I know for a fact that he'd make love to it if it were a Marvel book!!11!"

But go ahead, and talk about Freudian slips. I guess it's easier for you to try and utilize that then actually, I dunno, address my actual comments. :whatever:
