really loved the final episode :D but sad to see the series is now over :(

Was this episode straightforward? Yes. But it still delivered a satisfying enough ending and wrapped up as many storylines as it possibly can and I couldn't be happier with what I got. :D

Elliott Schwartz is perhaps the least intimidating man on the planet.

The only thing that disappointed me about the finale really was Lydia and the ricin. I always hoped that when the ricin finally got used it would be in some really badass way to take down someone really menacing and sinister and neither of those things came to fruition. Then again, I like Lydia and don't really understand the utter resentment so many have for her (and practically every other woman on the show, but I'm not going to get into that.)

I am amused Todd didn't seem THAT bothered that his Nazi family was dead.

He didn't seem to get what was going on. "Someone's attacking us from outside!!!" Yes, Todd. And that person is on the inside.

Speaking of that, what was the point of the trunk opening? The M60 didn't pop up or anything, it just fired through the side of the car.

Yeah I agree; I don't resent her so much as others, but she did threaten Skyler and is just as ruthless as Walt.

I don't understand the hate for the women on the show either.

Does Lydia whisper "Monica" when on the phone with Walt? Who is that?

Her daughter maybe? Can't remember what her name was.

Am I the only one who slightly lost my suspension of disbelief when Walt was able to get every single guy on that house with his little deux ex machina?

It felt kinda off that a show with such complex and nuanced writing did a scene where the outcome relied so heavily on sheer luck and not solely on Walter's intelligence.

I mean, sure, he might've calculated angles, distances, timings and all but it all came down to the crew being all inside the shack lined up perfectly like they conveniently were...

This is a nitpick tho, everything else delivered. It was surprisingly simple and straightforward, this episode. I was expecting something a little more wrinkled and with a more creative way of ending the show and, because of this, Sopranos still holds the best ending for a series. I really wanted this show to trumph that infamous ending with something genious but I guess playing it safe has it's own merits...

I feel a bit empty now that my favourite show is gone. Going into withdrawal :(

Actually it was pretty realistic. The gun was about waste high so the only way you wouldn't get hit is if you were on the ground and even that didn't work out all that well for ole Walt.

Lydia was as ruthless as Gus or anyone else, she just hid behind the culpability of it with a philosophy of non-involvement and a nervous, rigid demeanor. I really like the character, she's very interesting as an antagonist, but she got what she deserved. Having a slow, inevitable end is in some ways worse than how Jack or Todd died.

Trunk opening pulled the trigger with string...Shamon people.

The button on the keys was for the trunk...

So, he triggered the trunk to open... and in which pulled a lever or something to make the garage machine -> gun trigger and kill all of those fricken' Nazis.

Oh, I thought it was hooked up to the car's battery. I guess I didn't catch that.

sorry if its already been said... but who else thought of the Red Wedding and the rains of waltamere when he closed the 2 doors

Yep, I like the Lydia character a lot but she was ruthless as they come and if she had had her way Skyler and her family would have been wiped out.
