Breaking Bad - Part 1

Yeah, Amazon UK has the first three seasons on DVD.

Yea the UK gets both Mad Men and Walking Dead. So no idea why this isn't broadcast.
I didn't see the twist coming. Perhaps I was just too dumb to get the gun twirling, it makes sense now, obviously.

Yes, I saw alot of people talking about it. I will be buying the dvd set off amazon though, i'm not going to rip off a quility show.
I bet i'm actually one of the few people in the UK who buys it, assuming it's even sold in the uk.

The first 3 seasons aired on FX UK and as far as I know they intend to show the fourth at some point.

Also finally catching up with this show through my DVR. Just got finished with I.F.T. and I'm wondering if Skyler is supposed to be even slightly sympathetic? Since she just seems to be a raging ***** atm.

Theres that many friggin channels and name changes on sky it's difficult to keep up. It kinda sucks as well that aside from paying at least £30 a month you are getting spammed with ad's/sponcers and still getting tv shows much later than the US.

Breaking Bad has ruined other shows for me.

Now I'm watching Dexter or Walking Dead thinking "its okay... I guess, but its not BB."

I use to think Lost was awsome, in retrospect it's actually kinda cheesy and terrible.
Breaking Bad only serves to highlight it further.

Has it been confirmed if the final 16 episodes are going to be split or not?

I think its only been suggested so far, but not officially confirmed.

With AMC splitting The Walking Dead's season (though it is just a 2 month break) I can see them splitting. Only question is if they'll air them a year apart or just a couple of months. Still hoping for a Mad Men/Breaking Bad on the same night lineup but unlikely to happen. They could pair BB with a new show in 2013 or not. Like it has been mentioned here that may just be counterproductive since it ruins other shows.

Pretty much, yeah. Breaking Bad reaches levels of tension, quality of writing, acting, and shockers that few shows can match.

I made pretty much the exact same post after that episode aired. Apparently it actually was written and filmed to serve as a possible series finale, because at the time the future of the series was uncertain.

What's brilliant is that they managed to deliver a potentially satisfying ending while leaving open enough doors for the final season to still shock and amaze. Some angles they probably will explore in the final 16 episodes: where does Walt's cancer stand? Sure, he's still in remission but they can easily change that into a shocker for S5. I also wonder if Hank will find out about Walt? Will Jesse discover Walt's role in Jane/Brock? How will Mike react to Gus's murder? Is there someone in Chile who will be out for blood because of Gus's murder? Lots of potential.

Indeed. Still lots of stuff to cover. I personally really like the idea of Walt cooking meth out of his carwash.

I definitely think Walt's cancer is back and we're just not privy to it this time.

If I remember right, the cartel wouldn't kill Gus because of "who he was".
He seemed to have no history and it hinted at a fake name. I wouldn't be surprised if they follow up on that.

Good to know its not just me. ;)

Gus's history saved him the first time back in the 80's, but the second time Gus attributed the Cartel's unwillingness to kill him to their desire to keep his distribution network intact.

Regardless, I'm sure it will show up, if Tuco's cousins came back, Gus' history in Chile is definitely going to pop back up.

I've read some speculation that Gus might be the son of Augusto Pinochet. Seems like a stretch, but it would be interesting.

I don't know if it'll be as grandiose as that, but he definitely seems like he had some serious connections.

Well, son or some other kind of close relation, but I guess I agree, that might be a little too... eh, "grandiose" is a good word for it. Let's stick with that.

Totally random, but I heard there was a guy at Comic Con dressed as Heisenberg giving out little baggies filled with blue meth rock candy. :woot:

As much as I'd like to know as well I think that Gilligan will keep his past ambiguous. He mentioned in an article that he sees Gus' past as the briefcase in Pulp Fiction, it's more better if the audience decides themselves what he was before so I'm not having any high expectations for that resolution. Not to mention if they go with Gus' contacts from his past out for vengeance it'd be a threading in the same water and since it's the last season I think it's best if they keep it moving forward with the story of inevitable Walt's downfall.
