Breaking Bad - Part 1

I'd like to see Jaleel White go for Breaking Bad. Hey, if Malcolm's dad could play a financially-troubled meth cook...

Haha! I'm up for that. Why not?
Who could he play, though? How's about Gus's evil half-brother Rus? :awesome:

Gus' evil half brother? Man, Urkel would have to go REALLY evil to be Gus' evil half brother.

I could see him maybe playing another scientist or chemist...something like that.

If (and it's a big 'if') he gets a part, that's probably what they'll do. Either that or he'll be a colleague of Hank's. Series 5 is gonna have to be really Fed-Heavy.

Also, it might sound a bit odd but I dont actually consider Gus 'evil' per se. At this point Walter is a much worse person.

The 4th season really stepped it up, It's shocking to see a show that has no filler episodes, some say the Fly episode was one but the ending really tighten up loose ends on the characters.
I really can't wait for this final 5th season. :woot:

You don't really get filler in the wire either. The quility of tv shows is better than mainstream movies now imo. The only regard they are inferior in is budget. Limitation can be a good thing though, forces people to be more creative. Movies cant match the width or scale.Even movies like Lord Of The Rings need heavily compressed into 2-3 hours. A show like The Wire and Breaking Bad do a great job of taking advantage of that episodic nature. *strokes chin*

are they thinking casting him and he threw a hint at us ? or is he askign through the internet that he should be cast without any screentest and without reading any scripts?

Were they not planning on having a fifth season or something? Because the way it all ended seemed to wrap things up in a way. I really don't know how their going to go from here in the fifth season but I guess the way things went down there are some open ended things still out there.
Walt being the new meth kingpin with his car wash as his facility
Jesse finding out Walter poisoned Brock
Mike learning Walter killed Gus
Hank back on the trail of Heisenberg
Skylar's feelings toward Walter
Walter Jr. in danger or learning the truth about his dad ?

etc.

Yeah, I think Gilligan himself said he was happy if that were the final episode. He'd be upset about not answering 2 questions though: Walt's health and Hank's investigation.

Walt's health, Hank's investigation, and not to mention all the subplots like with Brock, Ted Beneke, Mike, and Saul Goodman.

edit wrong thread :o

Anyone catch the Breaking Bad 16-Bit RPG parody by CollegeHumor. I got quite a kick out of it especially the final move by Walt.

‘Breaking Bad’ Creator Vince Gilligan Signs New Overall Deal With Sony Pictures TV
By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Thursday February 9, 2012 @ 8:00am

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan has signed a new overall deal with the studio behind the acclaimed AMC drama series, Sony Pictures TV. The rich 18-month pact kicks in retroactively to November, when Gilligan’s previous deal with the studio expired (he has been working on the show without a contract for the past three months), and will keep him at Sony though June 2013. The deal covers Gilligan’s services as executive producer/showrunner on the final 16 episodes of Breaking Bad, which will begin production in late March. The order will be filmed in two batches of eight episodes, with a break of several months between for writers to work on scripts. The pact also includes development component, with Gilligan expected to focus on new projects for Sony after he wraps Breaking Bad.

Breaking Bad has always been an awards darling, earning star Bryan Cranston three Emmys. But with its dark subject matter and serialized nature, it was initially a tough sale and sparked two contentious renewal negotiations between Sony TV and AMC over costs. Then over the past year, the series grew into a commercial success, hitting series-high ratings in its most recent fourth season on AMC, ringing in record DVD sales for the studio and doing well on Netflix. Gilligan, an X-Files alum, is with ICM.

Well it looks like we'll get 8 episodes this summer but on the plus side they're giving the writers even extra time to craft the ending of the series so both batches should be incredible. Hopefully we don't have to wait until summer 2013 for the final 8 but that's probably what will happen.

That's good it ends with Gilligan at control of his series. Does anyone know if they already started shooting?

Damn my skim reading, alright good.

I'm glad they're splitting the final season. Giving the writers extra time to work on the ending is great.

Splitting the season is for the best, having enough time to truly create very outstanding for the series' end, even though they've always deliver it on a regular basis.

why is it the best? every season was fantastic. thsi show is perfection. they never needed time for a break .so why would they now?

i need my Breaking Bad. i need it now.

More time certainly isn't a necessity, but I don't see how anyone wouldn't agree that it's preferable. Especially since it's the end of the series.

Well the fact that they're getting three more episodes than the usual order is a start. I can see this as a positive thing with the writers needing to just focus on 8 episodes at a time rather than the whole bunch, and it could be less hectic for the schedule for the actors as well.

The reason could also be econominal choice if you wanna look from AMC's perspective, given the sense that it is the last season, with the ads and all that jazz.

Exactly. I agree fully. Can't wait for this to start back up again. I watched all the seasons in one fail swoop a few months back and it's some of the most captivating television I've ever seen. I figured the lastest seasons ending would have been a suitable ending but the fact that there is going to be 16 more episodes is freakin' intense. :wow:

i disagree that season 4 would be a good enough ending. it needs to end with Hank. this build up is WAY to big.i watched on TV season 3 and 4.they spend 2 seasons on Hank's wounds . and now he is coming back.

i think season 5 will go down as the best tv series of all time. Hank vs. Walt. you have all the emotional build up. both smart and both badass. plus we know now what Walt( the part with the plant) will do to survive.
