Bryan Cranston: 'Breaking Bad' will split final season

The question of whether AMC will indeed split the final season of Breaking Bad is close to an official verdict.
Emmy-winning series star Bryan Cranston says AMC will break the award-winning dramas final 16-episode season into two separate runs, as has been speculated for months. Were splitting it, says Cranston, whos currently shooting the fifth season premiere in New Mexico. Were going to shoot the first eight, then take a four-month production break, then the rest will air next year.
The network has not announced a premiere date for Breaking Bad, though actors on the show say the drama will return in July.
AMC and Sony Pictures TV have maintained radio silence on the shows return and distribution plan. A studio spokesperson says the four-month production hiatus is one scenario thats being considered. The network wants to divide the final season so it has a strong summer drama airing this year and the next (it would also presumably allow Breaking Bad to be eligible for two award-season cycles). With Breaking Bad production under way and summer right around the corner, obviously the schedule should get firmed up soon, though AMC has shown a willingness to engage in some production brinksmanship in the past.
Cranston, whos directing the upcoming April 11 episode of ABCs Modern Family, is expected to direct the ninth episode of Breaking Bads final season (the 2013 premiere, assuming all goes according to plan).
We pick up right where we left off, Cranston says of the fifth-season opener. Were cleaning up the pieces from last seasons huge ordeal where Gus Fring was forced to meet his maker. Its not as easy as Walter thought. And as weve discovered over the years, you dont really know who Walter White is. Im still discovering who he is and Im trying to allow myself to be open to him going darker and darker. Theres physical danger to himself and his family, plus theres the emotional danger due to his anger and hubris. Its about the evil that men do and where that takes him.
Well we get to see Walt and Jesse into fall 2013 and more people will get to catch up in time for the finale eight episodes.
http://tvline.com/2012/04/12/bones-good-wife-scandal-breaking-bad-spoilers/The acclaimed AMC drama is casting the potentially series regular role of Paul, a hard-working working-class lunk who, while not a genius per se, boasts above-average smarts. And while on the surface this newb appears innocuous, I am told he is not what he appears to be. Not what he appears to be, hmm? I’m purely spit-balling here, but I have to wonder if Walt’s farewell tour here might get stung by an undercover sting.
at the end of ep 8 i will bite of my nails and my fingers. you all know there will be a big cliffhanger. curse you Vince GilliganWell we get to see Walt and Jesse into fall 2013 and more people will get to catch up in time for the finale eight episodes.

The actor who plays drug-dealing protégé Jesse Pinkman on AMCs Breaking Bad was the victim of back-to-back robberies during recent filming in Albuquerque.
The first incident involved a thief breaking into the small screen star's Land Rover and swiping a suitcase full of clothes and other belongings he was too tired to lug inside, actor Aaron Paul told the Daily News.
The second incident took place April 1, after the Emmy-winning actor returned home from a night on the town with a few friends and a couple people he didn't know.
Once the pre-dawn party ended, Paul noticed his Apple laptop computer, a voice recorder, his gold Ray Ban sunglasses and his car keys all were missing.
He suspects one of the unidentified guests had sticky fingers, he said.
In all honesty I still love Albuquerque. I just felt violated in a way, he told The News on his cell phone Thursday.
I had this amazing experience in Albuquerque. I love it to death. Unfortunately, I had some pretty bad luck, the affable actor, 32, said.
The petty crimes drew national media attention after Paul complained about them on Twitter.
Ive been robbed twice since Ive been in ABQ shooting Breaking Bad, he wrote in one tweet reported by KOAT-TV thats since been deleted. First time was my car and this time around it was my house.
He tweeted he couldnt wait to be back in Los Angeles, arguing Its so much safer there, KOAT reported.
I cant believe how much traction this story has gotten, Paul told The News Thursday as he drove to the Coachella music festival in Indio, Calif.
He then quickly conceded the story was rich with irony considering his small screen role as a high-flying crystal-meth cooker.
Yeah, I guess thats it, he said with a laugh.
Aaron Paul always sounds bored in behind-the-scenes videos![]()
He was like "yeah, here's some sh** and some other sh** and there you go....b****."
