Breaking Bad - Part 2

This has been all but confirmed for a loooooonnng time. I was *****ing about the wait before the season started. :o

It's up for debate, surly. Walter has an ongoing streak of horrible things, while all we know Todd's done beforehand is robbery. Walt poisoned Brock for his own gain, while Todd did it (I'm guessing) because he thought that's what he was supposed to do. Meanwhile, Walter just stands there and doesn't object, so maybe he was thinking the same thing and could be proud of Todd for taking a quick initiate, saving Walter and the gang.

I think that's a bit of a stretch. The whole thing happened so fast I don't think he knew how to react. I think ultimately he'll just be like "Okay, it happened, let's bury the kid and get the hell out of here," but I don't think he exactly approved of it.

Was that kid even a threat? i don't think he even had the faintest clue they were criminals. I mean look at the way he was just waving at them he had no idea what was going on.

What was the worst he would do? "Hey mom when i was dirtbiking in the desert i saw a bunch of random guys draining something from a train" Mom: "Oh that's interesting son."

In fact in i were in that same situation, i'd actually approach the kid and tell him i worked for the train company or whatever and ask if he had any questions.

I just rewatched the episode and I have to agree. That situation could have been handle so simply it's insane. Todd is an idiot

Simple: guys like Walt and Mike do not take chances or "half measures" or leave loose ends. The kid could create some potential problems if he talked about it.

I don't think the kid posed much threat. He rolled up at the end and really had no idea what was going on. Todd is a piece of work

Oh please. This was not about half measures. Mike and walt had no intentions of killing that kid. I mean mike's had about 5 chances to kill that annoying woman and backed out.

Like in my previous post what threat did that kid pose? tell me? He didn't seem to understand they were "bad men" hence his friendly waving. What could he say aside from telling his parent he saw men doing something with a train of which he would have no understanding of what he'd probably be at a loss for words to try to even explain what he saw.

Just thinking about it this is about the 3rd kid we've seen shot on AMC in a year. Probably a record for a network.

His threat level all depends on how much he saw and how good of an excuse Jesse and Walt could have come up with. That being said, the kid could have just rode by while the 3 were celebrating and witnessed nothing of the heist and Todd would still have killed him. It really has nothing to do with how much of a threat the kid could be and more to do with Todd being a psychopath who follows orders to a T.

Walt and Jesse practically drilled it into his head that no one should ever know about the heist other than the 4 of them.

Mike and Walt had no intentions of killing that kid? Based on what? We can't possibly know that until next week so you're limited to speculation. The kid probably wasn't a threat, but you can't deny he's a witness to a crime. And last I checked, witnesses to crimes are targets. Did Todd need to kill him? That's up for debate.

Why don't we wait until the next episode to see how the characters, besides Jesse, feel about this huh? At this point it wouldn't surprise me for Walt to endorse Todd's actions. Not sure how big a fan you are of this show but if you're like most of us here you'd know Gilligan wouldn't have such a development without some purpose or endgame. Breaking Bad isn't gratuitous without purpose.

It doesn't matter if the kid posed a threat. Jesse and Walt strictly told Todd, "No one knows this goes down, except us." When you tell a criminal that, they are going to take that to heart. You can't blame Todd for following orders. Maybe Jesse should have said, "No one can know this except us and little kids." But still, it was the right call to kill the kid. Was it the moral thing to do? No. But hey, there is no room for mistakes in this business, and when there is a mistake, the greater effect it will have on the surrounding people or area or whatever. Maybe they could have talked to the kid, but he is a witness forever, and what's to stop him from going home and telling friends or family? It had to be done.

I don't know why Jesse feels like he is a good guy when he's trying to protect kids. YOU'RE COOKING METH, JESSE! Do you not think that is ruining family's and other kids' life?! He really needs to get out of this business or Walt needs to tell him that the product they make destroys families daily.

I have a feeling Todd will be severely punished in the near future, probably by Jesse.

I think both of you are taking this show's "philosophy" too far here. I disagree that the show will present his killing as necessitous of their criminal affairs. If anything like several others here have said Todd is pretty much a psychopath for his action. The entire lack of hesitancy on his part shows that.

It wasn't a smart criminal move at all. If anything it puts so much more heat on them now. Again i will reiterate that kid being killed was not a "full measure" moment it was a we hired a psycho moment.

The kid was a witness to an act he had no comprehensions of whatsoever. I disagree that walt or mike will take todd's action as the right call. Mike is a smart man not a psychopath also both of them have soft spots for kids especially mike.

If anything mike and walt and jesse of course will feel the burden and guilt of hiring a psychopath to help them out.

I will now patiently wait for Walter to pull a box cutter out on Todd.

Clearly this was the act of a psychopath, but I wonder if this would really cause problems down the line. Maybe if the body is found, but otherwise its just another case of a kid going missing, which happens too often.

Off topic, but I really want Walt to make it out of the show alive. I know its leading up to the epic, Scarface/Heat ending, but I'd prefer Walt "win". Having his empire, but having no one else he cares about left, eventually dying of cancer, alone.

last night, i watched the episode again, and noticed several plot holes.. that's something the writers have managed to avoid over the years but last episode had several..

If that happens it will be the single most badass moment EVER. I don't think it will though, I think walt will be somewhat pleased with Todd
