Breaking Bad - Part 5

I'm so tired of waiting. Why couldn't they just premiere it in July?

Last night I watched the episode with the scene of Walt Jr and the tequila. Seeing Hank and Walt in that scene alone made me 1,000,000x more excited for the rest of the show. I seriously don't think I've ever been this excited for a show's final episodes. Even Lost and BSG's finales aren't comparing to this level of excitement. I don't think anything else ever will either. Least not for a while, maybe Game of Thrones or Sons of Anarchy's eventual finales will capture some of it but damn it's gonna be tough

It seems like most of the shows I love happen to have a horrible finale, but I have a feeling this will be an amazing one.

The only finale I've ever really had a problem with was The Sopranos. And I appreciate it now a ton more now than I did when I aired

The only thing that makes me think the break is justified is the extra time the writers got to hone the final eight episodes, specifically the finale.

With a break like this, though, it seems they could've finished season 5 and came back with a final season 6 of 8 episodes. It would have been in AMC's benefit since the show is still huge, and the writers would have still had time to craft a proper series finale with even more episodic build-up.

Well, Season 5 was always meant to be the end, so I don't think Gilligan would have opted for another, shortened Season 6. These 16 episodes are his last hurrah.

I know that he intended 5 to be the end, but I'm just saying the way it wooed out was strange. Couldn't they have produced 10 episodes for season 5 and then 10 for season 6 (the end), with a year's time in between? Instead, they did a split into 8 and 8 for a total of 16 episodes of season 5, which a year in between.

My point is that most TV shows have about a year between season premiere dates. Gillian could've finished the show as I suggested and still have been done at the times, with only 4 additional episodes that might've made the ending even sweeter on all accounts.

I do feel like only having 8 episodes with Hank knowing is just not enough. I felt the same way about people finding out about the final five on BSG. It was so close to the end it just felt like there could have been a lot more to explore there that they didn't get to because it was finishing up. I know this will be satisfying though

I don't mind the wait because come October there will never be a moment of waiting for new Breaking Bad. It lets fans re-watch, discuss and create art, gifs, videos etc and lets people new to the series catch up.

Hanks looks like he's gonna explode. I bet he clenched up so tight that he didn't even drop a log into the toilet.

I hope the premiere picks right up in the bathroom with Hank. Like, we can get a good flashforward or something but the actual narrative has to pick up right back there. I have to see how Hank handles walking outta there and sitting back down at the table with the family. Omfg! I am like shaking just thinking about it now lol

If that's where they pick up, I bet he leaves right after. Like, Hank comes out of the house and...

Hank: Come on Marie, we have to go.

Marie: Why? What's wrong? This dinner party rocks!

Hank: Jesus Christ, Marie.... uh... it's my stomach. Let's just go.

Walt and Skylar are confused, and later Walt goes to the bathroom, sees the book and realizes what happened.

Nah, Hank would put the book back exactly the way it was before leaving the bathroom and make some excuse to leave that Hank would normally use like if nothing has happened.

One of these days, Marie... one of these days...

Marie was right on the nose a few times especially when back in season 2... when she mentioned that Walt might owe his drug dealer some money when he went missing.

But will she ever stop calling minerals "rocks"? Can you tell me THAT, Kane?! :argh::csad:

I always forget his name but the guy that runs the NA meetings Jesse goes to is such a phenomenal actor. Seeing the difference in him here versus as Wynn Duffy on Justified is just crazy. He looks almost identical like looks wise but just the way he talks and holds himself really makes him seem like two completely different people.

The raw intensity of Hank Face has left me blind.

Omg, trying to find the artist whose song was playing at the end of S04E02. Dude was rapping but it was more like some trip hop or electronica infused hip hop which I love and I just can not find who it is at all. This show does have am amazing soundtrack though that's for sure. Up there with SOA

Here's the music from that episode:

  • "Money" by D/R Period
  • "Up in the Club" by The Trak Kartel
  • "Hoochie Mama" by 2 Live Crew
  • "Unga Bunga G" by Flav Flav
  • "Raise Hell" by M.O.P.
  • "I'm Down" by Dub-Boro
  • "Digital Animal" by Honey Claws

Thanx Soapy! The one I'm talking about is Digital Animal, that song was awesome. I did fall asleep watching it last nite though and was getting chased around by Flava Flav yelling "RING DING DONG! RINGA DING DING DING DONG!" Omg smh lol
