Jesse might have sealed his fate. This has to be one of the very few instances where Walt acted better than I thought he would. I thought that anonymous bald man was Walt's hitman, there to kill Jesse. Sorely ironic that that wasn't the case and Jesse's cynicism regarding him caused Walt to order the hit on him... or so I think.

I don't know. Walt's attempt to talk to Jesse seemed to be his last attempt to get out of killing him. Everyone around him is telling him to do it.

I get it was a throwaway quip in Saul's part, but that would give more meaning to the "deep down he really [loves me...I forgot the exact wording here]".

Yeah, that's the issue with that. But going after Walt "where he really lives" made me think of the money since Jesse knows that was the whole point to Walt getting into the business in the first place.
