Breaking Bad - Part 8

Jesse owes more to Walter than he seems to realise

Aside from potentially saving him from jane and further addiction/death, I think the point is that his life would have probably been better had walt never come to him in the first place.

This belongs in here:

Jesse improved a lot as a person from the complete stoner/slacker that he was in S1 as a result of the trials he went through. He found a lot of strength he didn't knew he had along the way and Andrea and Brock were right for him. If Walt had been removed from his life say just before the S4 finale Jesse would probably have been pretty set.

Yeah that was one of the sleaziest things walt has done (and that's saying a lot). Jesse had a good thing going with andrea and brock he felt like he had a family finally, something he obviously never really had before at least judging form how his parents treated him.

Then walt due to his own paranoia manipulated Jesse into giving all that up.

I'll still say the way Jesse's path looks so far this season, lazy stoner/slacker or not he's still probably better off had walt never come for that ride-a-long.

Let's not Forget that Walt also sacrificed the great position he was in with Gus Fring just to save Jesse when those gangsters killed a kid.

Without Walt showing up he probably would have been killed by Krazy 8 and Emilio in S1 since the former had convinced his cousin that Jesse had ratted him out. I mean he might survive all of this, so who knows!

Yeah I'll reserve my final judgement on walt's impact on jesse for how he comes out of this or doesn't at the end of the season.

I do miss that walt who ran over the gangsters for Jesse and told him to "run".

I will say: most of the good stuff that came into Jesse's life as a result of Walt was unintentional on Walt's part.

A good deal of the bad was intentional on Walt's part.

I realized today that no one in the show has been killed by ricin. Not yet.

yeah, ever since it was introduced in season 2. dat build.

I don't have any particular reason why, but I've come around to [blackout]Lydia[/blackout] getting ricin'd. Just my guess.

Well, it does seem like [BLACKOUT]Lydia[/BLACKOUT] is being built up to be the season's main villain.

Okay so I've been watching this show for a few weeks and my goodness is it incredible. I'm just finishing up on E06 of Season 3 and I'm loving everything. I hate Skyler, I feel like I should start to hate Walt but I don't want to, I love Jesse, Walt Jr. makes me want to cry. My favourite show.

Marvel and DC, one of you needs to snap Vince Gilligan up to exec produce one of your new shows now!

I would be really bummed out if Vince got stuck doing some dumb comic book show.

High horse, Soapy. High horse...

Though, yes, I mostly agree. If it was a really great one that he was adapting, something like Gotham Central or something from Vertigo, I'd be more than okay with it, but if it's just like "Hey, Vince Gilligan! Give us a new Hulk show!" then I'd rather not.

I think I'd just rather see him whip up something brand new.

There was no high horse! Look, I like dumb stuff. I like dumb comic book stuff. I wouldn't be on this site if I didn't. I would just hate to see a talent like Vince Gilligan wasted on a comic book show, where you know it would be this safe, vanilla, populist sort of thing. Whatever he did would have to be filtered through committees and test audiences and okayed by Marvel/Disney or DC/WB, and it would just be bland, inoffensive, watered down junk like most television is.

But hell, maybe he would want to do something like that after doing a show as challenging and dark as Breaking Bad. I could totally see that.

Like you though, my preference would be for him to something completely new.

A Vince Gilligan Gotham Central tv show where he has full control would be so awesome...but we don't live in a fantasy world, sadly. :csad:

and yeah, I want him to do something original and something he has passion for.

Because she's a woman, of course. :o

That's probably not entirely accurate, but you know there's a grain of truth there.

Okay i'm not sure if this is a coincidence or not? but I was just watching tv and saw an ad come on promoting Belize as a great destination to visit and how safe it is etc. I swear I can't remember ever seeing an ad for belize pop up on tv before?

There's a few grains to that statement but that debate could go on for days....anyways, found this little gifset on tumblr.
