BvS BvS Rottentomatoes score - how important will it be, and what do you hope for? - Part 5

Part of me still wants to believe everyone is wrong and this is a fine movie.

From what I've heard, it is a lot like ASM2: the special and visual effects are great, but the film is, overall, a mess.

Hoping that I still enjoy it, but that is what I've been reading. I would've enjoyed ASM2 a lot less had the Goblin been taken out of the story completely. Dehaan honestly stole the show for me

Imagine, just 2 nights ago those early rumblings of positive buzz and now poof.

He never really has been. 300 was the last time he "succeeded."

Watchmen underperformed at the box office.
Sucker Punch was complete ****.
MoS was a disappointment critically, as well.
And now BvS is being panned by critics.

It could still do well at the box office and I might still like it! I might even love it! But the fact of the matter is that Zack Snyder is all flash and no substance. His movies generally look amazing and he has a love for the source material but he can't make his stories work.

And now he's doing Justice League. WB keeps putting their eggs in the same basket and getting the same result. It's insanity. Literally.

Just imagine what type of film we would of got if this was released in 2015. That's what really makes me mad, they had a year to flesh it out more and still its got big flaws. What the hell does this even mean for the extended cut that there planning to release. I really can't wait to see this tomorrow night. Happy Easter people, oh and as for that RT rating (oh bloody dear) but thats what the reality is at the moment. I will decide for me myself and i.

Dear god ... I forgot about the 8 month delay. What for? Would it have been a 15% on rotten tomatoes? Good lord. Such a stinking bomb.

Guys, the RT user rating is dropping pretty fast, from the looks of it ... I think we'll get a better scope of the audience reaction after the weekend.

Love how we're all carefree joking about when the entire cbm genre just took a massive hit to its reputation...

I wouldn't be surprised if what they were originally going to do would have actually been better than what they have now.

That's what happens when you second guess yourself.

You haven't read American Alien. Best Superman comic in YEARS. Landis has written my favorite Superman. Granted, I'm far from a Superman fan but that's my point--Landis is making me REALLY like him. At this point, he seems pretty good.

Wow, that's a really glowing compliment! I totally agree that it's the best Superman comic in years. Have you seen the pitch for his dream MOS sequel?

He might not have the most likable personality, but he has THE BEST ideas for Superman stories.

Or for this generation, Vaas of Far Cry 3. :o

It would, if we didn't have other studios actually putting out good stuff.

Wow, it's just dropped 3 or 4% for me in the last 10 mins. :wow:

dude I'm depressed as hell over this. today i've just been venting and that's how i've been coping.

I honestly wish I could go back.

The worst part about this is I can't be excited when the movie is about to play. Nothing is more exciting than being in that dark theater room. With TFA, the ratings were great and I was pumped out of my mind. And I'm a bigger fan of Superman and Batman than Star Wars. But this has just taken the air out of everything. Couple of my friends dropped out from watching and refunded their tickets. I'm still on the fence.

I really doubt we're gonna get Superman as a solo property again in the near future reboot or sequel. They've 3 cracks at the apple with fanboys unsatisfied and reception mixed to bad, while Batman still puts butts in seats and seems to come out well in this thing.

If you're hoping for them to attempt another Superman film again after all the drama the character costs for WB, forgetta about it. He'll be in JLA and other films I suspect, but I doubt they're gonna search for yet another white night to revive the characters solo film prospects.

I think when all is said and done, the RT rating will be 30-35%.

I had negative feelings and expectations about this movie, but I wasn't expecting THIS reaction. Wow.

I am sure Suicide Squad, Civil War and Doctor Strange will cushion the so called blow entirely.

Marvel and X-Men+Deadpool are still going to be strong.

I feel you. I was so anxious for three years. I pushed everything aside because this film was coming out. Every picture and bit of info I gobbled up. And at the end...

And that's just depressing to me.

The studios may take this as "Superman isn't putting butts in seats because he's boring and not likable!"

Actually, it's more like "Superman isn't putting butts in seats because he hasn't be done properly on the big screen in 35+ years."

If Captain America can work and win audiences over, then Superman surely can. There's no excuse for this crap, WB.

Not to mention X-Men, which ... coming off of DOFP should be really damn good.

Im not worried about CBM's in general, just DC films after Wonder Woman.

As long as Snyder is fired, I'm good to go.
