The Dark Knight Rises Can you track the comic source?

I think the word reference gets thrown around too liberally. Not every scene in TDKR that has a similar counterpart in the 70 year history of batman comics is necessarily a reference.

Coincides is very likely at times. While there are definite references in the film and some similar themes going through, from a lot of blogs like the one above it would make you think nolan practically thought of nothing himself and just borrowed random comic moments.

I'm almost certain the john blake name is more of a coincide than a reference to some random one off character.

Has anyone ever disappeared on Batman in the comics the way he vanishes from people during conversation? If not, I'm really glad Nolan thought of reversing that trick on him.

Happens all the time.

That reversal is one of the more common in jokes of the comics.

:awesome:

The way Bane is sitting in the prison when RAG found him in TDKR

Holding Osito like he was holding young Talia (ok might be a stretch)

And finally, Bruce's training in the prison, same as bane's : pushups, situps and pullups

Excellent examples with the first and third comic pages. It'll be good when we can make clearer DVD screencaps to highlight the comparisons from comic to film.

The metal bar Bruce uses in the hospital scene reminds me of Robin's (circus?) bar
Im wondering if it was a nod

Would've loved to see the entire scene with Bruce doubting Alfred.

"You're lying"

"You're lying"

Me too. I loved how he said it twice (in the script) like he's in denial over it. First it was just a quiet "You're lying." and then it becomes an angry "You're lying!"

I wish they would have cut something else out instead. It could have made an already incredible scene even better.

I thought this was a really sweet comparison. :O

While at the same time I burst out laughing knowing all the fun I'm having with photoshop tonight. :lmao:

Just read the full script tonight. If there's anything there I would've kept, without a doubt it would've been the full scene with Alfred. Any excuse to have more of Michael Cane and his ability to turn me into a blubbering wreck.

Catwoman saving Batman by picking him up in a big vehicle; In TDKR it was the other way around

Also, and I cant find a picture, but in No Man's Land, Cobblepot holds an auction for an apple (that one of his men got from a trade in the streets of Gotham)

Before giving it to the highest bidder, he takes a bite

Familiar ?
