EW says we can expect some more cameos (not only Howard), so I'm guessing the Howling Commandos, or at least Neal Mcdonough's Dum Dum Dugan.

If the smithsonian rumor ends up being true, then we can probably assume that they made the display sometime before he was unthawed. Since we all know that he was wearing his suit when he went down, maybe the one in the smithsonian is merely an attempt at a replica. Which ends up being a kinda badass amalgamation of the two suits. It does remind me a lot of the manip I did awhile back.

I'm guessing Dominic Cooper is just in the one-shot, and not on The Winter Soldier as we thought... the guy was misleading or he just doesn't even now where he is.

Perhaps the Smithsonian version combines both elements of his "Battle-Ready" uniform and the "USO Mascot" outfit.

What if there wasn't only one suit, though?

Perhaps Howard Stark made several suits, with some having minor design differences. Steve used several at one point or another, and it is one of them that the Smithsonian hands up.

Kind of bummed that the dark blue suit won't be used throughout, but as long as they make the new one better than the Avengers outfit, I'm good.

I imagine the dark blue SHIELD suit will be used for the majority of the film, with Steve returning to his classic suit for the final action scene.

That would be brilliant. And great use of characters we thought we'd never see again. I love that Marvel's moviemaking strategy mirrors comics in a way, with these one-shots of characters who really took off from their franchises.

I would love it if Marvel started producing small one-shot "What Ifs", like what if Howard and Tony Stark met, or What if Cap had been rescued back in WWII.

Yeah I didn't see Falcon at first glance. Was too focused on Cap's suit. Nice touch.
