no not like that, like the under siut that is under the plating in the tdk suit

whats wrong with the classic Captain America suit??? Remember this guy will be standing next to Thor and Iron Man so there is no need for a hyper realistic suit especially if hes going to be doing moves like Bronsky did in TIH. If he is going to be fully armored then what is the purpose of the shield??? Make the suit out of the same material as the spiderman suit and give it a chainmail top just like the comics.

The 616 (I hate referring to it as that) was designed in the 1940's - by people of that era. Why reinvent the wheel - if that is seen as a heroic / iconic uniform in that time - it should be communicated that way in the movie.

Its not like this is a modern day hero that has been design recently by modern comic designers and then being sold as a 1940's product (ie The Sentry).

The 616 costume could translate well by using 1940's materials - ie Denim for pants, leather boots and gloves etc - they just need to stay away from spandex and source materials that are appropriate for the time and the purpose (war)

This is what I mean - I love this image and while I recognise its not a photo we can get clues from it on how the suit could be built.

1. Use denim for the pants
2. Soft leather for the mask - this picture makes me think of the soft leather hats used by bomber crew-men. Just don't make it shiny
3. Gloves and Boots - red leather
white/red undershirt - woollen undershirt
4. Scale over-shirt??? I would like to see micro-chain mail - Hey its been around since the 4th century - why not use it in the 19th century.

The shield size is great.

I would love Joe Johnson to pin this up in his study for reference

what's that ? I never knew if those were flakes or feathers

Still prefer the chain-mail - I just find most scale (or scale-mail) manips look too bulky.

Having said that, I've just Google Imaged 'scale-mail' armour and one of the results (forgetting the dubious site that I found it on :o and the colour) looks pretty damn perfect:-

Marvel will need to do something drastic with the outfit as nearly all of the incarnations, so far, have been quite ugly.

No chin mail....please

I'm just glad they are making this movie! Cap whooping some ass with the help of a Thunder god....damn!!! I can't wait to see them all brought to life on the big screen!

Whats funny is i said in the begining of this thread how a Scale/chain Mail hybrid would be perfect... everyone gave me the thumbs :down... but now that we have a visual i would like restate..... scale-mail is PERFECT :o

holy crap i had always laughed off the idea of actually using that scale mail but now that i've seen what it actually looks like, i think it would be perfect! :)

Lol, no.

The site that I stumbled across on Google images to get that pic was actually a some kind of Belly-dancing site.

:hehe:

It is Aquaman to a 't' though.

Haha, I thought it was Aqua Man too. Thought I'd stumbled into the wrong thread.
