Evans looks a Liefeld drawing come to life. :o

I kid. Love how wide his shoulders look. I'm not a fan of Cap but I will be seeing this movie on opening day.
Wow, I almost choked on my drink with disbelief at such an uncharitable comparison when I read that first line! Thank Goodness I kept reading. Good one, my friend.
Evans Does look Awesome, both in and out of costume. Can't wait to see what the Skull will look like on screen. It's damn understandable why all who saw the production art for this movie were raving, especially now.

Guys .... we've already seen it .....

Yeah,But those are just art sketches and the actual suit will be the true goods or not!.

Any news on that suit being at the end of the movie or introduced in Avengers!

I understand your logic as to why you think that will be the suit we see in modern times. I just don't think they had the actual materials, they were gonna use nailed down yet, and used that as a blueprint for what we now see Evans wearing.
If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. (if it aint broke, dont mess with it) But I think we will see something other than what that production art shows, come Avengers time.

dude that concept looks exactly like the movie costume that was released today

i mean exactly

I really like the body costume but the helmet still bothers me for some reason. Eh, I think that's probably as good as it's gonna get in live action. I'm happy with it overall.

It's not though. The patterns on all his clothing look far more modern, as does the material. He's also sporting his classic full head gear and his neck is not exposed like in the pics we've seen released today.

I think that was probably just the model for what it turned into though Rock, because both that concept are and the big WWII mural concept art had completely different looking materials that BOTH look different to the final costume but they're still all clearly the same design.

That said though, the more I look at the clear, Hi-Res EW image of the costume, the more I really really like it, so who says that a tighter, more form fitting version of that costume is a bad thing? Especially if they could even tweak a few things, like a bit more red.

I think with the modern costume they do have more liberties with the creative design, they can afford to put in the red gloves and boots, depending on the angle. You know, if SHIELD are appointing him as the leader of their new super team, It would make sense for them to add to the costume to make him more of a symbol. Or if Tony Stark designs the modern suit, I could just see that scene.

Tony unveils the costume to Steve for the first time, with stripes and red gloves and boots.

Cap: Red?

Tony: What can I say, I like Red.

Wish I could say the same about the Spidey outfit.

I think its complete dreck but at least I got the Captain picture which was awesome.

Good day indeed to be a SH fan regardless.

I'm not a fan of the spidey outfit, it seems too sci-fi. Like the 2099 costume. Which is a shame because I love the build of Garfield, it looked very Ultimate spidey. Shame shame. Bad ass Paratrooper Cap will have to whoop his ass.

I'm 100% with you Wolvie. I was so excited for the Spidey reveal and I couldn't feel anymore let down by the design.

Just so much potential wasted IMO. Garfield has the perfect figure and they go and mess it up by hiring the Spalding company as the lead costume advisor.

Cap should give Spidey his tailors phone number.

He can give his tailors phone number THEN whoop his ass.

I absolutely LOVE Cap's costume

Spidey's is nothing special, though.

Probably partly because I've never been that much of a CA fan (as in, didn't read his comics), I don't have any problem with the suit. Would have preferred it being a little more form-fitting, but I suppose that 'realism' nonsense got stuck in here. But where you can have superserums but not slightly more advances suit materials doesn't strike me as realistic though.

Anyway, it's a suit, I can tell it's Captain America -So let's get a damn trailer out :)

To reiterate what the others have said, I meant seeing the modern costume in real pics and not concept art.

I have a feeling they will save the modernized Cap suit for The Avengers...

Cap will prob get a new suit in Avengers, but honestly, Captain America is about more than the just modifying the suit every five minutes. Let's not bog down Avengers in making Cap look better to fans. If this ended up being THE costume for both films, I'd accept it. I do think Avengers will give him a new suit, but if they don't, I won't care. In this film, the suit is the symbol of Steve Rogers' character journey, but in Avengers, Steve's journey probably won't physically manifest with the evolution of the suit. Thus, don't get over concerned about it. Make a better plot and film.

I could totally see them giving him the new suit at the climax of The Avengers, when he steps up as the 'official' leader.

Everything blends well.

Perfect costume. Based on costume alone this already ranks with Spider-Man (Raimi series), Iron Man, and Superman (Donner) as some of the better adapted costumes.

Costume is looking good, this has been a nice morning for me. Spidey photo and Cap at the same time. Beautiful!

These pics are great, the suit works well -- But I want to see it CINEMATIALLY, Let's see Cap through the camera under Johnson's direction instead of set photos, it'll look how it was intended to then :)

Personally I think it's the same costume. The only difference between the concept really is the exposed neck. I remember when people were citing 'futuristic belt buckle' as proof back when the other action shot concept art arrived. This suit looks virtually the same.

Looks great. Not skin tight and not too bulky either. I'd say it's a perfect fit for the character and for Evans himself.
