I figured out my main issue with the suit...
Take an American flag...and put some ugly gray straps across it, crisscrossing in multiple directions.
How does it function as a symbol at that point?
I drew these ages ago, thinking about what they were doing with the Bat-films, in terms of design

Again, if they kept the current design for the modern day suit, I'd be happy, 'cause I like the look.

What pic is that? It is real? It looks weird somehow.

Have you considered that his costume looks dull in this picture because he's in the dark?]![]()
Now, I'm wondering if this is just how he'll look before getting frozen, and that later on he'll get the mask and a sleekercostume, more of the classic look.
I think it looks cool, but I'd rather see the mask, but the suit looks fine to me. I don't know why everyone's complaining about the brown. The red should be a bit brighter, after all his costume's supposed to look like the flag, not that dull red like that stupid Superman Returns so called Super suit.
Red white and blue, not maroon white and blue. He's an icon, like the flag. His suit's supposed to reflect that and be patriotic. Ironman has brighter red on his armor. I cannot stand filmmakers who are too wimpy to go all the way with the look, don't take a step back, the comic book movies are finally where they should be. With Green Lantern and Ironman, they've shown there's nothing wrong with bright color and that it can still look cool.
I mean come on, his name's Captain America! No reason to dull him down.
Go all the way or don't bother at all.
I mean the suit looks fine to me, just give him the mask and brighten up the RED a bit. Even if it does stick with the helemet/mask it's cool but brighten it up.
I haven't been spoiling this movie for myself really, so I don't wanna' know, yet I have to wonder, will this just be him in the 40's then he gets a more modern brighter costume with the mask in the present.
I guess here's the question - Is anyone here NOT going to see this movie opening weekend? I'm not crazy about the outfit right now, but this is definitely a big budget effort. I never thought I would see this day back in the 70's and 80's. There's no way I will let a couple of photos keep me out of the theater.
