No to the eyebrows in that manip of Yvonne. It's a major pet peeve of mine when it comes to brunettes bleaching their hair but keeping their eyebrows black as night. Almost every actress that's been fancast has some good and some very bad manips done. There are some great Dormer and Winnick ones. I've even seen some acceptable Sackhoff manips.

That's the original Blunt one. From there you can find more women as CM manips (right side). Maybe the Yvonne picture is in there somewhere.

Yvonne definitely gave me a hard on playing the Mass Effect series.

So I've just started reading up about this hero and honestly before shh put the article up I had no idea who she was. But I'm intrigued, what kind of power level / abilities does she have and what of that do you want to see on screen? From someone who knows nothing, is she comparable to dcs wonder woman for example? As strong as superman? Somewhere between iron man and thor? Someone lay the law on me please.

Somewhere between Iron Man and Thor sounds about right. She's virtually invulnerable, has super strength, can fly 6x the speed of sound, has a precognitive 6th sense, and her sort of "signature" power is that she's an energy sponge who absorbs all forms of energy and can use it to magnify her strength or project it in concussive blasts "with interest" (up to the force of a nuclear bomb). She's more powerful than Wonder Woman.

When she absorbs enough and taps into the power of a white hole, she goes "Binary," in which she essentially becomes an energy being who can travel at light speed, magnify her strength even further, and generate and control all forms of energy on the electromagnetic spectrum. This is something I'd hope/expect them to save for a later film, though.

In terms of a recent demonstration of her (non-Binary) powers I'd love to see in a film, there was a pretty epic bit in the "Higher, Further, Faster, More" arc in which she took on an entire Spartoi armada by herself without her spaceship that I thought was awesome and would love to see something like that in a film. In that same arc, she also turned herself into a living bomb and bombed the hell out of this huge mine on a refugee planet that the Spartoi were trying to protect which was killing the inhabitants they were forcing to live there. It was nothing but a gigantic crater when she was done with it.

This movie is starting to make me wish that Guardians hadn't used the Kree. It was a fairly arbitrary choice for them, and is integral to Captain Marvel's story. Now, she's getting sloppy seconds.

Not if the Kree are gonna be major players in Infinity War too. It actually makes a lot of sense to make them such a prominent presence throughout the universe, imo. Besides, we've only seen what Ronan's capable of, and he was a rogue terrorist. We have yet to see what the Kree forces/society/tech are actually like.

Y'know, when a trade reports an actor is in talks, it usually means they're close to getting the role. I fully expect a Larson announcement on Marvel.com in the next week. I wonder who they're gonna cast for Mar-Vell.

I almost think the film would be better served with an older, father figure type Mar-vell than a love interest. Make him less of a dreamy alien, and more of an old grizzled veteran and mentor.

*Gets attacked for age discrimination* But in all seriousness, it worked for Hank Pym.

Ehh... Idk 'bout that, dude.

No more than introducing Klaw in AOU spoiled the character for Black Panther. Ronan was just one Kree and he's hardly the most important Kree to the Captain Marvel mythos. None of the Vell's, Yon-Rhog, or even the Supreme Intelligence showed up. It's ok for the Kree to be in more than one movie.

I am a skeptical one, but after that fanart, I'm startin to see it. Only question is, can Brie grow superhero muscles?

She seems to be a healthy human being, so sure.

This just in: Brie Larson is a fan and lover of cats: https://***********/brielarson

Very happy we're finally getting news about this.

She does, and also like some frazzled working mom in a Captain Marvel costume, and not Carol Danvers, air force pilot. She looks like some mom who is reluctantly posing in the costume for her kid's Halloween party, and now she's got her hands on her hips saying "are you happy now?"

There must surely be a better photo of Brie out there to choose from than that one.

She's also 26, which is the right age to play the role.

Happily, I see none of that.

She's a good actress, but it would seem like Hollywood is casting firmly within type yet again (another 20-something year-old), which is disappointing. Because I was hoping that if any role could make them give an older actress (mid-30's) a shot, it'd be this one. Guess not.
