I like the first one because they used images of Dolf Lundgren as He-Man from The Masters Of The Universe for Thundarr. The second one used Liv Tyler as Arwyn from LOTR for Princess Ariel (personally I would've used Kelly Hu as The Sorceress from The Scorpion King). And they used a Lycan from Underworld 3: Rise Of The Lycans for Ookla The Mok (personally I would've used Ron Perlman as Vincent from TV's Beauty & The Beast). I liked how the 3rd one used the actual music & voiceover from the cartoon though. However I found it a little too long, with too much footage from the Deep Impact trailer. I also found that some of the movie footage used was poorly chosen (Emperor Palpatine as an evil wizard was a good choice, but we didn't need to see Luke Skywalker).

I read on www.city-data.com that there's a script for a Thundarr The Barbarian movie being shopped around Hollywood. I don't know if it's fact or rumor, but it's out there. Hopefully someone will be able to provide some evidence to back this up.

Not at this time. But if you google the website and "Thundarr movie" at the same time, you should be able to find it.

I've never see Spartacus: Blood & Sand, so I don't know if he's got the look or the ability to pull off playing Thundarr. Maybe post a picture?

If he does well as Thor, maybe he could play Thundarr.

I have been watching the reruns on Boomerang and got me thinking on the movie version. Would or should Thundarr or even Ookla mane or Kill?

That's a very good question. I say "Yes". For one thing, this is a live action adaptation of an action adventure cartoon, not a comedic adventure cartoon. It's Thundarr The Barbarian, not Dungeons & Dragons (another cartoon which I happen to dearly love). Also, Thundarr has in fact killed opponents in the cartoon, so I see not reason why he shouldn't in the movie. Ariel always says something to leave the end result rather ambiguous, but for the most part the character is dead.

For example, in Fortress Of Fear Thundarr throws the wizard Argoth into The Labraya Tar Pit after the wizard's magic is drained. Argoth sinks into the tar and disappears.

Thundarr: Can even Argoth survive that?

Ariel: With his power? Maybe. But if he does, he won't be in any shape to trouble anyone for a long time.

Then in the episode Wizard Wars, Thundarr deflects one of the wizard Skullos' spells back at him. Skullos loses control of his magic and the energy builds until it causes the wizard and his war machine to explode.

Thundarr: Skullos is no more!

Ariel: You never can tell with a wizard that powerful, Thundarr.

Then there are the episodes Island Of The Bodysnatchers and Last Train To Doomsday where the villains (Cerce the Witch and the wizard Gemini, respectively) were turned to stone. That is, of course, if you happen to equate being turned to stone with being killed. So it's not exactly unprecidented that Thundarr and company should take a life.

Besides, this film should be a hard PG-13 movie, if not rated R. It doesn't necessarily have to have Conan The Barbarian level violence, with the exploding blood packs and the dismemberments and decapitations. But certainly have a similar level of violence as Willow for example, or maybe the Star Wars movies (if maybe a little more intense). And Ookla? Moks are obviously the mutation/decendants of lions, which are a predatory species. Therefore they likely have lion like claws on their fingertips in addition to those huge insizors. Thus in a melee confrontation he's likely to claw and bite his enemies, not just pick them up and throw them.

But if the violence is only PG-13, then I hope we get to see Princess Ariel naked to bring the rating up to an R. I know she's only a cartoon character, but DAMN she's hot!

Yes! I've done it! I've finally finished my latest Thundarr fan fiction! You can read it right here on SHH! It's called Thundarr The Barbarian in Curse Of The Vampire and is a crossover story between Thundarr and Dracula. It's very similar to the animated movie The Batman vs Dracula. You can read it on www.fanfiction.net using the post above, or simply look it up on the Fan Fiction & Films board in the Fandom Come community. Enjoy!

I have started a thread on the Fan Fiction & Film board. It's called Thundarr The Barbarian: The Movie (Ideas, Plots, Colaborations, etc). I set it up for anyone who wants to post their ideas for a Thundarr movie. I'm planning on writing a script soon, and any collaboration would be appreciated (and you will be credited as one of the writers).

By the way, I've just finished writing Chapter Two of my latest fan fic, Thundarr The Barbarian in Hunted. It's a Thundarr/Predator crossover. Anyone who's interested, please read.

Okay, as most of you know I have written a feature length screenplay for a live action Thundarr movie. And, as of late I have been trying to get some selected scenes shot in order to make a trailer for the film, in order to drum up interest in in the feature project with the studios.

Well, I was advertising for local acting talent on Craigslist a while back. Most of the replies I received were for Princess Ariel (a lot of aspiring Chinese actresses in Vancouver seem drawn to the part), as well as the Swine-Folk (evil pig-man mutants). You'll never guess who contacted me, wanting to play Ookla The Mok.

The Man Mountain himself, Sir Gregor from Game Of Thrones, the 7' tall Mark "Conan" Stevens. Incidentally, he also played one of the orcs in Peter Jackson's Hobbit Trilogy, as well as the title role in Marvel's Man-Thing back in the early 1990's. Is that cool or what?

Okay, brand new casting suggestions.

Thundarr The Barbarian: Charlie Hunnam (Sons Of Anarchy). I just saw an ad for the show (haven't got cable so I can't watch it) and Charlie has the perfect look to play Thundarr.

Ookla The Mok: Mark "Conan" Stevens (Game Of Thrones, Spartacus, The Hobbit, Man-Thing). He actually contacted me expressing interest in playing the role.

Princess Ariel: Ellen Wong (Scott Pilgrim vs The World). She's a very good actress, young, athletic, with a background in martial arts. And if you Google her image, she LOOKS the part.

Sabian The Wizard: Al Leong (Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Big Trouble In Little China, The Scorpion King, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues). Yeah, I'm not budging on this one. The story should be an origins story, which means the villain should be Princess Ariel's stepfather. AL Leong has the right look, and is a highly underrated actor.

Zogarr The Barbarian: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (The Scorpion King, The Rundown, Faster, Walking Tall). Thundarr needs an opponent who will challenge him physically, which is why Zogarr is written into the story. And The Rock has the physical presence and the acting chops to pull off the character.
