Cast the live-action Legend of Zelda movie

So the person who ''suggested'' Zac Efron as Link needs a Ganondorf boot to the face? :cwink:
You're forgetting that Link himself is a pretty-boy, but you would not want a pretty-boy to play the part? I think he would be a spot better than Leo DiCaprio or Orlando Bloom! For one they are both too old! The Link we are all hoping to see (OoT Link) is 17! Neither one would pass for that. Oh yeah and Natalie Portman as Zelda? She looks nothing the part! This is simply a forum to see who would look good in the parts. I don't care for Zac Efron either but the fact remains...He looks the part!

Yeah... you gotto go for the pretty boy type that every girl loves and every guy can't stand... the young Dicaprio/Furlong type... I hate to admit it... but that's Link.

The fact is...Britanny Snow looks less like Zelda, is a much more awful actress than Natalie Portman and I'd much rather have some people who are a little older than the characters are suppose to be and may not look TOTALLY like them, but would at least have the fricking acting chops to pull off the parts and make it a quality movie.

With Efron, the only girls who like him are under age 16,

I'm a girl, who is 20, and me and ALL my friends and ALL my brothers friends who are girls (my brothers friends are all 17/18) HATE EFRON WITH A FIREY PASSION

So yeah, not efron. URGH i HATE HIM

Well... those are the girls this movie would target if its made eventually... I mean maybe a little higher (in the 16-17 age range max)... it should be along the lines of a mid/late-series Harry Potter movie. Family oriented of course. Any guys holding hope of getting a dark, gritty picture... don't bank on it... I mean maybe we'll see some green blood from monsters and what not. Nothing more than that. It should really be a Narnia type film... though I'd prefer PG-13... what's Prince Caspian's rating anyway?

Well the game is rated T...I would imagine a movie would be PG-13

I haven't played the new game... OoT wasn't T though... Majora's Mask may have been... no way Windtalker was T... I don't know... what are people saying about the latest game anyway? How is it?

There is nothing wrong with Brittany Snow's acting. I am an actor as well, I can totally see her doing it! I'm not even really sure why we are all arguing over it. Movie's made from video games and cartoons are usually career killers for big names, so it wouldn't benefit any of them to be involved. In all the years I have been acting I have learned one very important thing! It does not matter how good of an actor you are and how well you play your part, if your supporting cast is ****ty, you look ****ty too! It would almost make you look better to act as badly as they are. When you have 14 people doing a lousy job and 1 person doing a great job, that 1 person stands out and still looks ridiculous for taking the the other 14 people serious. I personally think the only big name in the movie should be playing Ganondorf. I picked Bruce Payne in my list because he looked like Ganondorf in Dungeons and Dragons. There were a bunch of well-knowns in that movie and it was still cheesy! I think David Wenham is better suited for the role though. After LOTR, it would take a lot to kill his career!

Twilight Princess is awesome. Absolutely no magic though. Its not all cartoony like its predecessors! Ocarina of Time is still my favorite though!

Wenham has the creepy voice and the crooked nose... I thought he'd make a decent Gannondorf because of that. And now that I think of it... they really don't need a Fanning for Zelda... I mean those girls are talented but seriously they are both becoming the McDonald's of Hollywood's children acting stars list. Going with unknowns across the board would be fine with me. They should wait till after Potter and Narnia are done though... get these book adaptations out of the way and then go to this maybe around 2014... no rush... whenever the time is right. I just pray Disney isn't planning on making seven Narnia films you know... revisit the series if you must later on.

And to the person who said that Twilight Princess had absolutely no magic in it, try playing the game before you say that because that game was full of magic.

Twilight Princess was an incredible game. But if they do movie adaptions...I'd want to definitely see OoT first. A sequel with MM would be so amazing...I'd be okay if they just did two Zelda films instead of three.

I have played that game and beaten it up, down, sideways, longways and every other way you can think of. LINK DOES NOT USE MAGIC! Of course there is magic in it! It wouldn't be a Zelda game without it. Link though, has absolutely no magic abilities in Twilight Princess!
Now you should try going back and playing the game again to see what I'm talking about!

I agree! They should get unknowns to play the parts! Why is it that an unknown can show up and play a role like that and it will make their career take off, but when a well-known tries it, they pretty much kill their career? I think Ganondorf should be the only well-known in the movie. I don't think those Narnia or Potter films will affect a Zelda film. Especially if Peter Jackson takes on the production. I think when it comes to a Zelda film, it will either be good or it will suck. I don't think there is any gray area there! LOL

God, no Peter Jackson for a Zelda movie...LotR is a completely different style than Zelda, so I don't think he would work.

Thats not Link! Its Midna!

Um, Link does turn into a Wolf

If this movie is ever made Nintendo has already said they would make it themselves. So no worries about cast and story. Nintendo is not going to do anything to ruin their ace in the hole! So I'm sure it would be a great movie! I suggested Peter Jackson because he has proven that he can make this type of movie (Dealing with magic and Elven folk) and make it well! As far as Link turning into a wolf, let me rephrase that! Link does not turn himself into a wolf. Midna turns Link into a wolf! Like I said Link himself does not use magic in the game!

For the people saying Gerard Butler...no just no. I'm going to see Ganondorf not King Leonidas pretending to be Ganondorf. :o

You guys gotto start thinking outside the box... who's the poster that came up with that list of ten things that every poster here does when it comes to naming cast members and picking directors... hmmm.... Gerard Butler can play a ripped dude who can scream and can wield a sword... he's perfect... for Gannondorf??? Hmmm.... Peter Jackson delivered the most epic fantasy trilogy ever created... se lets suggest him... even though he'd only cost about 50 million dollars since he'd really want to spend another 5-10 years developing something along those lines again... let's try and be novel here... then again I did mention the Fanning's... so my bad there... just don't really follow all these young actors/actresses who work for Nickelodeon and Disney...

Did you ever see "Meet The Feebles"? It was, if not the first, then one of the first films Peter Jackson did! It was written, filmed and released in mere days. Now as goofy as that movie is, it was still very well done! I think given a year or so Peter Jackson could make a good Zelda film. Remember LOTR took 3 years! Thats 1 year per film, and they were all beautifully done. I do agree though! We all need to, as you said, think outside the box!

I suggest an unknown Eurasian as Link

Ganondorf - Liam Neeson

Zelda - Hmm... the only person that actually looks like Zelda that comes to mind is Kristin Kruek... but I'd like someone else...

I think we are are on the same page at least! I had Liam Neeson for the voice of the deku tree and Kristen Kreuk as Navi! LOL Maybe Malon. I photoshopped her with blonde hair though, and she looked horrible! So I'm not sure shes right for Zelda. I'm not even going to talk about Link anymore. People are too uptight about that one! I originally had Bruce Payne as Ganondorf but someone else suggested David Wenham and I like that idea better!

Am I the only one who is sick of Kristen Kruek?

And as Zelda no less. I mean, I can understand where ppl would suggest her for Cassie Batgirl or Terry's gf from Batman Beyond, but Zelda?
