Cast the live-action Legend of Zelda movie

i like a link to the past better than oot :o..oot is the best of all time though.

one thing im worried about, if they make a movie, is that they will try making a love story between link and zelda and i dont think theres ever been a love story btw them two in the games.

I too, actually enjoy A Link to the Past more simply because I think it is a lot more fun and challenging than Ocarina, but Ocarina is far more cinematic and would adapt much better.

As for a love story, I really hope not. In all honesty, I theorize that Link and Zelda are siblings (at least in the Ocarina timeline). I used to have a whole argument to back it up, but I can't recall it anymore. :csad: But I assure you, it was very convincing.

lol yep.

if DDL would play gannondorf, id **** myself.

It really was a convincing argument. :csad:

Wouldn't we all. But I think I could settle for an actor as phenomonal as Jason Isaacs. Haha, I'd gladly take him as a "loss."

ive always thought they were siblings too, just in OOT though...cause theres never a mention of a queen, so i kinda thought she was running from something a long time ago and ended up hiding in kokiri forest.

in ALttP i figured links uncle was like a bodyguard type figure of zelda.

How badass would it be to see link drawing out the master sword on imax :wow:

EXACTLY!

I've always liked to think Link's uncle was the original Link from the original Zelda or his son or something along those lines. But your theory is probably right.

It would be amazing. Unfortunately, I really couldn't see it ever happening. I just don't think it will be made for a long time if ever. :csad:

I've played that game a fair few times, and although I can't say 'NO! YOU'RE WRONG!' I really can't imagine what evidence you'd have for that.

If it's true sucks for Link. Stuck in the forest while his sister struts around the castle.

haha star theres alot of evidence supporting it :)

In Ocarina of Time, it doesnt say that both Link's parents died, just his mother while she was caught in a big battle, she left him with the Deku Tree. And died, but they NEVER mention a father, and did you ever hear of a Queen of Hyrule in the game, no I didn't think so, also when you meet Zelda for the first time and tell her your name, she says it sounds somehow familiar. AND in Zelda: A Link to the Past when you first go into the castle and find your uncle, he says and I quote, "Link take my sword and shield, you must save the Princess she is your ........" what else would he have said, your girlfriend, well beings you never met her it has to be that she is your SISTER. And if you actually read the instruction booklet in the original NES zelda it specifically says, "You must save your sister from Ganon." So not to prove you wrong but I'm so sick of people saying, "Oh well they should get together." NO that would be like Luke and Leia getting together.

I've read other theories on the site, and so I read one talking about Link and Zelda from OOT did not finish the game as a couple because on Zelda - A Link to the Past, Link was not a prince. So, I still think this theory is wrong, because Link's uncle, on ALTP says something like "Link, Zelda is your..." So, what Link and Zelda are? Brother and Sister? Is it possible that Link and Zelda from OOT married, and so their children got separated for some reason (maybe because Ganon wouldn't find Link even if the whole castle became dominated, like it really occured on ALTTP)? So, it's my theory, Link and Zelda from ALTTP have somekind of "kinship", maybe because Link and Zelda from prior games had married...

this pretty much sums up my thoughts :)

Jayne Wisener played Johanna in Sweeney Todd. Anyone else seeing the perfect Zelda in this girl?

That is probably the most intelligent casting for Zelda I have seen in this entire thread.

A link to the past, or ocarina of time.

3 movies...
ALttP
1.Light world, end with link entering dark world
2.obviously darkworld...
3. death mountain/pyramid of power

OOT
1. the kid portion for about 3/4 of the movie, last 1/4 temple of time/pulling of the master sword
2. adult link portion...
3. gerudo desert/ganons tower..... gerudo desert bc its ganons hometown and could tie into the plot in a much bigger way then the game did.
I like this idea.

I can live with this.

I'd hope not. And I hate the theories that say they're brother and sister.
Ugh, Zelda fan theories.:down

Ah Hell no... every time I think of that chick I can't stop singing the song to myself. It's good casting though.

Whoever suggested Ellen Page as Saria had a good idea. She's half a kokiri already! What can I say, I have no life....

Isn't she a little too old for Saria about now?

I haven't played OOT for awhile, but doesn't Saria become an adult when she is a sage? If I am remembering correctly, Page would be just about perfect for the role. Nice call Star

Very good, I like that idea!

argh ellen page as saria was my idea! :cmad:

;)

i always thought saria stayed the same age...but in order for a movie to work, you cant have a sage be some little 10 year old actress IMO.

Will Smith as Link
Milla Jovovich as Zelda
Christoper Walken as Gannon

(hehe)

I know it wasn't my idea originally, I just couldn't remember who said it and/or was too lazy to uh... scroll.. up... :p

Good call though:yay:

i hate to say it, but with a fake nose, angelina is perfect for Nabooru

dampe the grave keeper = Ted from scrubs :)

Darunia.... Ving Rhames?

id want as little CGI as possible on some of the characters, unless it looks as good as Davy Jones...

This is my very humble attempt to manip Rufus Sewell as Ganondorf. It's only a simple jobby as I don't have the best of software.

And I'm quite liking the idea of William Moseley as Link.. He's probably got just enough name value for a studio to go with him but he's not as recognisable as say Orlando Bloom is and he's already got sword training under his belt plus he's young enough to get into a trilogy.

Or how about Ben Barnes who will be playing Prince Caspian.. I dunno how he would look with blonde hair though.

I never really thought there was a love thing going on with Link and Zelda, more the fact that he was a selfless hero saving the girl in distress and I never thought of Link and Zelda being siblings although that does seem plausible..

If a film did go ahead they could expand on this idea over a trilogy.. Maybe go the Luke/Leia route and have him sort of forced into the situation of saving her, then hint at love and he's saving her because he wants to but then reveal they are in fact siblings.

No, Saria stays the same age when Link returns. All the Kokiri stay the same, none of them age.

No franchise can ever go "I am your father or I am your brother/sister" anymore... just leave it open to speculation... whatever they do.
