Cast the live-action Legend of Zelda movie

Honestly, if they ever did move on with a Zelda film they'd want to make a franchise out of it so a trilogy is given. Just which films would you want adapted?

Link should look no older than his early 20s, at best. I understand the immediate dismissal of a pansy, but I don't want a "man" in this role either.

And whoever mentioned Evan Rachel Wood as Zelda is right on. She's young, and has a very graceful innocence to her that the role requires. She's pale as hell too, just like Zelda.

2. adult link portion...
3. gerudo desert/ganons tower..... gerudo desert bc its ganons hometown and could tie into the plot in a much bigger way then the game did.

thats the only reason i said someone like scarlett, bc she is pale and has a nice body

William Moseley is cute, but too much to play the role of Link! he is too angelic and his face is not rather hard. Somebody more "wild " would be needed...

Jayne Wisener played Johanna in Sweeney Todd. Anyone else seeing the perfect Zelda in this girl?

i couldnt see her doing anything physical... zelda is good with a sword, uses magic, i think she even flies sometimes... so we would need an athletic girl...hmm.

Matt's Zelda Cast:

Link - I hate recommending "No Names" in casting call threads as it is such a vague word and seems like a lazy cop out. But there is really no actor on the scene today who could do justice to the role. You'd just have to do open casting until you found the right actor.

Zelda - Jayne Wisener. Sweeney Todd proved she has the chops, she has the looks, she is the right age. All around perfect Zelda.

Ganondorf - Appreance shouldn't really play that much of a factor as CGI and prosthetics are going to be used heavily, so I really was more worried about someone who could act the role as opposed to someone who looks it:

Daniel Day Lewis would be my first choice. However, I honestly couldn't see him taking such a role. Just not his type of thing. Therefore I'd recommend Jason Issacs. He can combine the brutality of Ganondorf, with the composure and sophistication (for lack of better wording) that Ganon needs. Plus he is great at playing villains.

So yeah, there is my cast.

Did you really think Keira Knightley capable of such prior to Pirates? With the right training and stunt people she could pull off the Sheik persona

So, what would you recommend? Would you like someone along the lines of Lucy Lawless playing Zelda? Most actresses look silly doing action scenes as they are for the most part tooth picks without the physique for their stunts. Zelda in the games even is no exception. It is not as if Zelda is a huge warrior. She is a fairly petit young woman.

Well, if I remember correctly...and mind you, it has been YEARS since I've played through A Link to the Past (which I think would actually make a cool trilogy in and of itself a few years after the trilogy based on Ocarina of Time is complete), Agahnim is actually Ganon, correct? Or a astral projection of Ganon or something along those lines. Therefore, I'd say if he made the movie, you may as well just have whoever is cast as Ganon play him.

i like a link to the past better than oot ..oot is the best of all time though.

one thing im worried about, if they make a movie, is that they will try making a love story between link and zelda and i dont think theres ever been a love story btw them two in the games.

I'd be cool with Molina as Ganon. Though Jason Isaacs would be my first choice, that is to say my second choice as my first choice (Daniel Day Lewis) would likely consider himself "above" such a role, where as Isaacs seems to be willing to do anything as long as he likes the role. He will play Captain Hook or Lucius Malfoy one day, and then do an Oscar calibre performance in a deathly serious movie the next. Looks shouldn't be much of a factor, as Ganon will be heavily CGI and prosthetic. It all comes down to acting chops and I am sure Isaacs could act the role to a T.

On a side note, this movie would really fly or die based on one thing:

Child Link, Zelda, Saria, etc. If even one of the child actors are Jake Llyod calibre, you can kiss this movie having credibility goodbye.
