I don't agree, there's been multiple occasions where certain fan castings have become reality.

There were a couple people on SHH that suggested Affleck for Batman.

Christian Bale, Patrick Stewart, Viola Davis, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Henry Cavill

It's not like all of these were the fan favorites, but I distinctly remember all of these names coming up on casting threads before they were cast

Of the top of my head, Christian Bale as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther were all very popular fan cast around here before getting the part. Also Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. There's more, too.

If you were to read my original post you'd see that I said "it's not like all of these were fan favorites". Christian Bale and Patrick Stewart were fan favorites for years.

Anyone here back in 2003ish should remember that "BALE DAMMIT!" ruled SHH from the moment a Batman reboot was announced until the time Bale was officially cast. The rumor was WB wanted Ashton Kutcher.
