Why Can't DC Get it right? - Part 2

The funny thing is that the UC itself felt quite butchered to me. The consensus among fans seems to be that it fixed everything the TC got wrong, but I felt like it was just 30 more minutes of (very) bad movie.

Oh I totally agree, for me personally the UC was still a bad movie, but atleast it didn't see like it was edited by a 10 yr old like the theatrical cut was and at the end of the day superman was still a sad, mopey idiot and batman was an over the hill semi-psychotic killer and no amount of added minutes would ever correct such mis-characterization IMO.

For me, it improved but only in terms of the Africa related scenes, with the paid actress and everything, and it was nice having more Clark in there, that scene with him calling Martha on the phone was a nice human moment.

But, it also made it worse for me, since in the UE we find out Clark JUST knows who the Batman is, really? you've been at the Daily Planet for months and just NOW, because some old guy told you, just NOW, you know who Batman is? and worse, just a couple scenes later, he's telling Perry he's dangerous and must be stopped, why? what made you come to that conclusion? did the old guy tell you the whole Batman story?

If the film doesnt bother explaining, then why should i care, in the TC, i just assumed he already knew about him and when he saw the branding on the news, he thought he was going too far, but that wasnt the case.

i gave BvS a 4, and the UE is more of a 5.5 for me.
