Sylar is being written so out of character its not even funny. His transition into a hero is so unbelievable and doesnt make much sense

They most likely used the Haitian to capture him and then drugged him like they did Peter to keep his powers at bay. Plus he wouldnt use his powers in such a close proximity most likely since he wouldnt want to get pulled into one of his own black holes.
