Molly has more of an outerbody experiance while she is finding people (just a guess). Plus its easier to manipulate a childs mind then it is to manipulate to grown men.

I can definitely see that. He looks like he came straight out of the Batman comics as Two-Face that it's scary.

It may be that Matt was able read minds and was able to break up the hypnosis. Molly cant because she is the only one in it and cant tell it is a dream or reality.
