The Book of Boba Fett Chapter 5: The Return of Corporate Synergy (Spoiler Discussion)

I'm very conflicted about this episode. On one hand it's a great episode. On the other, this doesn't help a show that has already been moving very slow on its primary arc in the present day. I think I'd be less fazed if Book of Boba Fett was 10 episodes but it's only 7.

It's weird. This is objectively the best episode of the season yet also I feel it's only the third best episode because episode 2 and 4 did more to meet the "mission statement" of this series, for lack of a better description.

So I guess we can safely say that Book of Boba Fett is really six episodes long, with a bonus episode of The Mandalorian thrown in there.

Normally I'm not a fan of when shows go on a tangent and break away from the main plot for an episode ("The Lost Sister" from Stranger Things S2 comes to mind), but I will absolutely make an exception for Mando. Din Djarin came in and got his stink all over Boba Fett's show like Rick James putting his feet all over Eddie Murphy's couch. Poor Boba wasn't even in the episode. They could have easily tacked the final scene of this episode at the end of Episode 4 and saved everything else that happened in this episode in a flashback for Mando S3 but I'm not complaining at all. This episode was great.

I was eating up all the fan service in this one. From all the nods to Grogu to the Naboo Starfighter (I've always loved this ship but I still think Din will need something bigger to haul bounties and store stuff) to seeing a BD unit making his adorable live action debut. :atp:

The BD unit got me hyped too! Can't believe we got a Fallen Order reference in there.

Also, am I the only one who now feels that Mando is becoming much more popular than Boba Fett at this point?

Hes already is for me.
Just the opening with him saying his catch phrase I can bring u in warm or cold is more than Boba has done

I get it that they want a more merciful Boba but that direction is meh so far

Boba walked so Mando could run.

Boba walked so Mando could run.
Actually it's Bulloch's ( presence) as Fett who walked so both Morrison's Fett and Mando could run.
Neither are the fleeting blank slate character we had and loved from ESB.
Mando is just a better character, greater quest, And he keeps his helmet on, which is closer to the ESB character we once imagined.
This Boba Fett ever sense he became Tem Morrison is Jango, the guy from the prequels retroactively projected onto ESB Fett, but isn't, who constantly takes his helmet off, and now says I'm Boba Fett mate.

I am 1000% with you.

In a void...this episode is magnificent. Easily Top 3 Mandoverse episodes.

BUT as a part of a show called..."The Book of Boba Fett"......yeah....

Again if this was a 10 episode show...no problem. BUT its seven episodes. And the episodes were not very long...so I do feel kinda cheated.

This is a great episode but really you can't have a whole episode of a character's show be about another character. Even the MCU never did anything like that lol. Having these strong links between Mando, Boba and Fennec are great but this is outright cheating. :D

Gotta love how Mando just hijacked the entire show for a full episode. Also, have to love his 1 episode was a million times more compelling than anything else that has happened in this show. This episode was actually, you know....good

So technically Din Jarin is the leader of Mandalor because he wield the Darksaber. I wonder if this will be explored in Season Three

That scene of Mando walking out in front of a bunch of workers having dealt with the boss and leaving them to take the credits made me think how it would have been if Activision and Bobby Kotick had been handled via Mandalorian bounty.

It was noticeably better than what we've had to date on this show, with the same quality the main Mandolorian show gets, and it also looked like it had a higher budget than the other episodes. Feels like we're running out of time for Boba on his own to reach the same heights, and it's a shame as I had thought he had every chance of matching The Mandalorian.

When the best episode doesn't feature the titular character...

As a Mando fan...I loved everything. The Lore. The small little details (Ie Paz Vizla holding the Darksaber reverently), the new locales etc.

But as a Boba fan...I just feel cheated. I feel guilty for enjoying this episode. Like I was SOOO hyped for this show, and I've enjoyed the episodes so far...but the pacing issues/the lack of episodes and episode length has been a major issue collectively. And now we have two episodes to wrap things up ( though part of me thinks they may just do the battle with the Pykes as the opening arc of Mando S3) and I don't think there's enough time to give it a conclusion that's not half assed.

Filoni...I've know we've had our issues...but your my only hope.
