Chapter 58 - "I Am Sylar" Discussion Thread - 4/20/09

I love the fact that peter only has one power ATM. It's very probable that if there is a peter/sylar fight at the end of the season, that he will get his infamous scar. (he does not have Claire's power.

I'm not a fan of it. Because it once again flies in the face of the established history of the show. The formula was only supposed to unlock what was already "coded" into the dna as it pertains to a person's potential power. We already knew what Peter had. And now it's different... why exactly? I'm talking within the show's rules as they have been created, not why the writer's just came out of left field and changed it.

If it turns out that his emotional state affects how and why he can only absorb powers as he can now, then I can see that tying in more solidly into how his powers as a whole can be explained on a sensible level. Doesn't mean it's still cheap to have him depowered for no other reason than to keep him from being "uber".

Not diggin the fact that Hiro and Matt are even in the episode(dislike them immensely) but lookin 4ward to the ep nonetheless.

It's possible, much like speculation on Mini-Matt's potential impact for some Heroes, that there's more to what Matt and Hiro will be doing here. Whether or not it plays out right (I can still see Matt getting offed instead of Nathan, ironic as he now finally has a reason to continue going on) is left to be determined. I'm hoping though that this episode doesn't have more impact than the finale (much like the second to last episode of Villains was more meaningful in an way than "Dual" felt).

On a side note did anyone catch what Sylar (as Nathan) was saying at the tv press conference? It looked like he was letting the public know about people with special abilities.

I thought he was announcing his candidacy for President of the U.S.? Could be totally wrong here.

Same thing for season 1 with Landslide and How to Stop an Exploding Man...

Well at least hopefully we should see how Future Peter got his scar here :yay:
Also my spoiler in my last post is some thing to look forward, maybe means hey'll slowly get his old abilitys back while learning to be smart.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm not all that big of a fan of wanting to see Squall-Peter much, or at least that he needs a scar for any reason other than depicting a future version of himself that's more than likely never going to happen. Granted, if they do show and explain how/why he got it, then fine. But I don't think it's an element that needs to be forced. Plus, I can see how it would only feed into making a guy who's already uber-jaded, into someone that should be the most emotional of the bunch (strictly imo).

I really hope Sylar doesn't kill Danko. I want Danko around next season. He is the best thing of this volume.

I want Danko to die more than anything haha. I think he's a great actor, but I dislike his character.

I hope Danko survives too. I think there is more to explore in his past. Plus having him go toe to toe with HRG on a regular basis would be an interesting story arc.

Sylar is going through an identity crisis! Oh noez!

Hmm...Ando isn't frozen when Hiro stopped time. What is that foreshadowing hmm?

Hiro's gonna dress up as that swat team member so he can go w/ Ando once they round him up.

Hiro is a jerk. And I swear if Sylar kills Micah. I am gonna be incredibly pissed
