Chapter 59 - "An Invisible Thread" Discussion Thread - 4/27/09

Peter was the one to our left as they flew in (Nathan got blasted away by an electricity blast and Peter was throwing a punch at Sylar as the doors closed).
To be honest, with Peter de-powered to just having flight at that moment Sylar should have made very short work of the pair of them. I guess for arguments sake Peter was taking on a different power from Sylar each time he hit him to account for the 'battle' lasting as long as it did, settling on the shape-shifting when he was knocked down while Nathan (presumably) flew Sylar out of the window.

Whatever the case, it would have been nice to have actually seen it for once...

Ok, for some reason many of my friends have been saying Nathan was the one on the left...

And I agree with what you say.

I agree with your fight scenario. I'd imagine a full on Peter vs Sylar fight would be very expensive. Maybe we'll get it for the series finale.

Smallville has superpowered battles all the time. I find it sad this show never really had a good display of two super powered being using their abilities to full effect against each other.

Yeah, I'd kill for a sick battle but I'm not holding my breath :(

It sure made me sick

Lets hope so. After teasing us with the prospect of a big eye candy showdown since the first season, if the final pay off 'battle' is just another light show through a closed door (they've pulled this stunt twice now) I will be more than a little annoyed... to put it mildly.

At this rate(and even if Peter gets his old/good powers back); Sylar has acquired so many new ones. I don't think Pete has a chance of winning unless Sylar goes insane.

One thing I've never got is why Peter (when he had his old power) didn't just absorb every power Sylar had acquired too...

Whatever, I can imagine a set-up where Peter could absorb enough to take take Sylar down: Invulnerability, flight and Super Strength would do the job against Sylar's biggest guns (which I think are telekenisis, radiation, cold (which he never uses) and electricity?).

X2! Its sad that its suppose to be "superpowered" people and no fights at all? :whatever:

I guess they are only going to do one battle and that battle will be Sylar vs. Peter on the show's finale. Lame, very lame if that is so.

why didn't anyone think of using claire's blood to save nathan?...i think they used it on noah bennett...

Maybe they are trying to rectify past mistakes by not using cheap plot devices to bring the same characters back to life???

who was the 'styler' being burnt on the pyre at the end?

And after saying that I have one thing to add. Yall are the hardest people to please on the face of the planet!! Its like I recognize the problems in writing with the show since season 1 but they are trying and I think that we got the dissappointing finale mainly just because of budget and the fact that the season as a whole was lackluster (even though I still enjoyed it because Im not a pretentious uptight nitpicker with an airtight bumhole). Im hoping and actually kind of expecting season 4 to be the game changer that this show needs and if it isnt screw it it isnt the end of the world and Ill still have something to watch on monday nights considering I just cant handle wwe anymore.

Um. Once the show introduced super healing blood.... there has to be a damn good reason for not using it and for someone to die and you don't need to be a pretentious uptight nitpicker with an airtight bumhole to think that.

Will everyone forget about the Healing Blood. Its good they didnt use it bcos now people will die. And thats what we all want.

Lol yea I was just being an ass when I said that lol I thought itd help fit in around here lmao

Dude are you telling me that you never said something negative about the healing blood when it healed Noah? Cmon dude they are trying to rectify the mistakes theyve made the last 2 years and killing off Nathan and not using the healing blood are things people have *****ed and moaned about and now people are *****ing that they are trying to do what people have said they wanted them to do. Those sir are the actions of a crazy person.

I did. But guess what, just cause the healing blood sucks like Caitlin and half the other **** Heroes just dropped for no reason... doesn't mean that it no longer exists in the Heroes universe.

Cmon dude they are trying to rectify the mistakes theyve made the last 2 years
Then how come Sylar, Claire, and Tracy didn't die along with Nathan. Cause that would get rid of almost all the mistakes.

Those sir are the actions of a crazy person.
What's crazy? Still watching Heroes? You bet your ass it is.

Hahaha cmon Gilpesh no reason to get worked up I just meant that *****ing about something and then when its changed *****ing about it being changed is crazy. And I didnt say they are trying to rectify all mistakes but I do think we should just get over past stuff and concentrate on the future ya know man like **** caitlin dude who the hell cares everyone knows the writers strike ****ed stuff up lets just give them one last chance now that Fuller is back and hope for the best. All Im saying is I dont understand the point of always *****ing about something when you watch it every week ya know its out of our hands man we dont work at nbc or nuthin so screw it just sit back chill and hope they get better if they dont then **** it they dont but why the hell come on here and get worked up and all upset about a TV SHOW its not worth having an aneurysm over

no reason to get worked up
I'm not?

I'm just explaining that just because something sucks in a show... doesn't mean ignoring it works... especially when they have a million other ******ed moves that they are still doing and should really stop. Heck, a bunch of the ******ed things come from actually ignoring things.

The plot hole with Claire's blood could have been avoided had they at least bothered to explain why it was not used*, or had them try and it failed to work for whatever reason. Now I've seen some say Nathan bled out so that's why it wouldn't work...
Come on, Noah had a bullet in the brain and was dead for a good while and he came back in one piece, so it doesn't stand up that Nathan's bleeding to death would stop Claire's blood from working (A full transfusion mixed with the miracle blood would take of that), or that Noah wouldn't even think to give it a try.

*Ok, as far as I know only a few people among the main players know about Claire's blood raising the dead: Suresh, Claire, and Noah (Not sure if Claire knows either?). Neither of the first two know Nathan died at all, so (giving the writers the benefit of the doubt), perhaps Noah decided against using it for his own reasons, to be revealed later?

Course', this idea doesnt really hold up either when Matt would likely have picked that info from Noah's head when he rummaged around in there before...But it's better than having him completely forget the option was there, especially when it meant keeping Sylar of all people alive.

Whatever, I dont think it's nit-picking at all to ask why the writers didn't address the issue. If they consider the original idea a mistake (and I would agree), thats fine, but give the fans an explanation as to why it's no longer an option: Correct the mistake, don't just expect us to forget all about it.
