The Book of Boba Fett Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger (Spoiler Discussion)

Yeah Cad Bane did seem more scary than usual, but It was a cool addition to the live action version. I think his color was a bit off but maybe that was due to the sun he seemed pale.

His eyes and mouth unnerved me a lot more than anything else. His species has been in live action before, but never with full facial movements and that much malevolence. The blue gauntlets kind of spoiled his outfit and style tho.

As for the gunfight...

"This is your man with plot armor."

*Vanth surviving a shot to the chest*

"This is your man without plot armor."

*deputy dead and forgotten in the corner*

Might we see an aerial fight between Cad and Boba or Din, I am talking jetback vs rocketboots

That would require present day Boba to do something cool, so probably not.

Me, 2 seconds later:

Anyway, really enjoying this two-episode show about all SW characters whose names don't rhyme with Moba Pet.

Omg at the amount of cameos in this episode. I thought they couldn't go harder on the fanservice after the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, but this was even crazier than that.

I have no idea what's going on with this show anymore, but hell I'm not complaining because I'm loving every minute of it, and I honestly think its some of the coolest worldbuilding yet.

I mean from Luke training Grogu, to Ahsoka Tano being there and that pretty badass introduction for Cad Bane all felt like the most Starwarsy **** ever, and I am here to eat it all up.

Sure, they are obviously setting up other Star Wars shows, but if this episode didn't get you excited about the possibilities of what to expect in the future than I don't know what will.

I just wish they didn't kill Timothy Olyphant's character off, but at least he had a great re-introduction at the beginning of the episode and hopefully now Boba can get his time to shine in the finale.

The way the town folk were messing with his wound makes me think Cobb is going to survive. I expect them to take him to Boba's palace, and he'll be put in the bacta tank.

No Name Deputy is dead as **** tho.

Oh yea the bacta tank we saw every episode, good call.

Cobb definitely survives this episode. It'd be very underwhelming otherwise.

This just about sums it up. On the one hand they're (probably) going way too hard on nostalgia, but I also love the worldbuilding and new stuff we're getting.

Damn thing should have a proper name at this point.
A friend of mine made a joke during the first episodes that we should rename this show to Book of Bacta. :o

I really want to watch Luke and Grogu training, I also wonder if Luke is talking with Yoda about Grogu.

I find it very odd (and honestly a bit funny) that some people are pointing at the episode where Luke is building his temple / school from TLJ as proof that they are somehow retconning the sequels. References to the ST in these shows are more subtle than PT and OT, but there's been plenty to connect these shows to those movies as well. In the end, whether you like or dislike those movies I'd say improving on them and the bigger worldbuilding is only a good thing. I like how they've balanced it so far in these shows.

I wonder if we see Embo in this also? Feloni has tons of characters from the Clone Wars.

15 minutes in and still no sign of Boba. Has he left the show? :csad:

Really liked that episode, but the Syndicates escalation (bombing businesses, Cad Bane etc) should have come ages ago. We had episodes and episodes of meandering when really, gang vs gang warfare should've been the flavour much sooner in the story. I feel like the stakes are finally high and we've only got one episode to go.

I am not a Star Wars fan and haven’t posted anything on its related thread (I think). But this episode is so awesome just hats off even I had no idea that bluish alien is another cameo of some importance in the lore. First time I’m going to looking forward eagerly to a Star Wars episode, which will be next week.

Wow they did it.
The Lone wolf and Cub choice.

Although if I were FavRoni, i'd have Grogu put the two together and choose both! .

And Luke allowing it.

Luke's "Instinct" which Ahsoka presumably recognizes, was never following Jedi dogma, but choosing his own path, never giving up on the connection to his loved ones, friends, sister, father, and saved his father by allowing him that choice again, and letting him reconnect with what he loved. And by that, brought about the Return of the Jedi, his way.
That's the Luke coming out of ROTJ.

Although Disney's future Luke is a complete failure, who instead followed and was a slave to Jedi Dogma, and books, and who betrayed all his own learned experience and instinct,

So who knows where they are going.

That said, episode was fantastic, a cavalcade of awesome pulling from all over, and combining it wonderfully.:yay:
Main reply in the Mandalorian thread^

Again as with the last, it appears the less we see (and hear) of Morrison the better.
While that is in part due to Morriosn, love the guy, but he knows the character is just better silent and helmeted.
And right now the setup for the Cad Bane showdown, is carrying his story.
And all I can say is he better wear his helmet for that!

The dreaded return of the Mod Squad?

Again I've come to terms that this part of Tat. is a little more modern, with the Casino there, has a new influx of people, money and and culture from off world, that trickles down into the sub culture. Hence the Mods. This is a legit part of the visual, and it works fine for me.

For better or worse, that is his team:
A depressed Rancor, Fennec, Chocolate Kroissant, The Mod Squad, a healed Cob Vanth (who really needs some armor as per this suggestion), and a depressed Mandalorian.

Looking forward to the final showdown.:D

A great Star Wars universe episode which shows the potential going forward after so much has been set up, but hopefully Boba makes an appearance at some point in his show.
