The Book of Boba Fett Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger (Spoiler Discussion)

I can't wait for Feloni to get free reign on his own live action series, it seems like that is what they are building to. Chow is moving to Kenobi and Feloni I believe is going to Ahsoka, I am not sure I know he has written an episode though. I guess the Mandalorian was just training for them to get to know the new tech they are filming with.

I wasn't expecting this episode to be even more fan service-y than the last one but here we are.

At least Boba showed up for one scene...he didn't say anything, but hey, he was there and that counts!

Luke was an improvement over the Mando S2 finale but I still would have rather seen less of him. It was cool seeing him interact with Ahsoka, who I was not expecting to see.

Grogu pulling my heartstrings sensing Din and watching his ship leave. :csad: Of course I want Grogu to reunite with Din but I also kind of wish he and Luke could do a shared custody type of thing because more Jedi training could only help.

Cobb Vanth coming back was unexpected but cool to see, and live action Cad "I non-fatally shot the sheriff but I absolutely annihilated the deputy even though he's far less of a threat" Bane's entrance was badass.

I'm sure Max wasn't in that place when it blew...
That sweet baby boy survived Jabba's Sail Barge, he'll survive this. I'm afraid I can't say the same for Jennifer Beals. :csad:

Something about Cad’s lips just reminded me of the Mouth of Sauron.

So that completes the hat trick of LOTR references in this episode after the chain mail and an Olyphant getting taken out. :o

I find it very odd (and honestly a bit funny) that some people are pointing at the episode where Luke is building his temple / school from TLJ as proof that they are somehow retconning the sequels. References to the ST in these shows are more subtle than PT and OT, but there's been plenty to connect these shows to those movies as well. In the end, whether you like or dislike those movies I'd say improving on them and the bigger worldbuilding is only a good thing. I like how they've balanced it so far in these shows.
They are definitely connecting to the sequels here and anybody who says otherwise is in total denial. The huts are literally identical to what we saw in TLJ.

I mean, come on.

Star Wars Greatest Hits Minus Boba
Luke
Din
Ahsoka
Grogu
Cobb Vanth
Cad Bane
Probably missing a bunch more.

Even Fennec did the talking in the war room. Boba put on a sturdy expression which was a great performance with the limited screentime.

Glad to see BK back in the fold for additional muscle. Were the cyberpunk gang there?

Yeah, they were there standing around with the rest of them.

Great debut for Cad Bane but a shame we lost Cobb there. He looked great from a distance with his hat down and the shadow but on close up it looked like they had got many parts of the design right but it felt a bit like his face was made of plasticine. I also got this from Ahsoka's shoulders and face. Can't remember getting that from when we saw Ahsoka before.

Max Rebo should be short for Maximum Rebound, he should be allowed to "bounce" back every time, right into his barrel-Keyboard-diaper, and never miss a beat. ! :D

We still don't know how strong Grogu is or was before the fall of the Temple. Luke is helping him remember his power sort of like Cal in the game. I wonder how strong he was. As for the age I think you just knock a zero of and that is the age that they appear. Like Yoda was 900, which would be 90. Grogu is 50 which is 5.
I also liked seeing Luke's saber form. I am so glad it isn't like the prequels with all the twirling, it is more like a samurai and less like a tai chi sword. Meaning more japanese and less chinese style.
Maybe Ahsoka will train Grogu and he can choose both.

Great debut for Cad Bane but a shame we lost Cobb there.
His deputy got eviscerated, yet it looked like Vanth survived. As people gathered to try and heal him.
This will unite them against the Pikes is the point, and they will follow him to battle.

Oh that's better then. Best of both worlds. Shame for the poor deputy but give Bane an awesome entry, keep Cobb for future use and motivate the townspeople to fight.

I’m kind of laughing at the fact that so far the best episodes of this show have little or nothing to do with the title character, and everything to do with setting up dozens of more interesting Star Wars shows/characters, lol.
I'm starting to think that Book of Boba Fett should have just been a four episode miniseries that focused on the flashback stuff like how Boba escaped the Sarlaac/joined the Tuskens/met Fennec, etc. with setup for the Pike syndicate storyline in the last episode which would then get picked up in a crossover event movie that would essentially just be BOBF episodes 5-7 since everything that's happening now feels like a big crossover event anyway. That way you avoid the whole "forgetting about Boba in his own show" problem we've seen in the last two episodes.

Also, one great touch I noticed is Luke seems almost confused on what to do with Grogu. It seems like he has some doubt himself, so I think they're laying the groundwork for what happens in ST.
What I find strange is that Grogu is Luke's first student and it's been five years since ROTJ. Shouldn't he have started training Ben by now even though he'd only be 3/4 or at least have found some other students in the meantime?

Wouldn't Ben be only 5 at this point though? I kind of forgot if it was ever confirmed what age he was when Luke took him in.

I would have liked another couple of episodes showing Boba finishing the build up of the early stages of his empire and then show them win a notable victory against a mid-size rival before drafting in the rest of the SW universe like this for the mega battle for the last 2 episodes.

I just looked it up, Wookieepedia confirms that he was born one year after ROTJ so he'd be about 4 but he didn't start training with Luke until he was 10. So that solves that, but it's still odd that Luke wouldn't have found any other students in that five year gap.

Yeah, agreed. I also loved the foreshadowing with how they cut from the fire to the hut and "there's no safer place than with Luke".

Han/Leia banged in that Ewok village under the Death Star fireworks.

I still say Alden. Especially if we're getting that Qi'ra show. Hell, we still have the Lando one coming. Would be so weird to deepfake Harrison for this, but then have Alden show up in the others. But I guess it's possible.
Alden will definitely return as Han in the Lando and Qi'ra series since they'll be taking place roughly around the same time period as Solo did, but as weird as it could be to see a de-aged Harrison Ford showing up, it'd be even more jarring to see Alden as a post-ROTJ Han in this. In this case, I'd rather the deepfake Ford option.

But also, Han dropping off Grogu would be laying the fan service on a little too thick. It would make more sense for Luke or Ahsoka to do it.

For that matter, how would they know where to find Din? And also, how did Din know where to find Grogu? Is information about Luke's Jedi academy location easy to procure or was it through Ahsoka? I assume they exchanged contact info after they met the first time so that could be how Din finds out if Grogu wants to go back with him.
