Tough round.

Sabretooth heals and all he needs is his body strength unlike with Magneto, who requires metal materials to use his powers. Like if they are inside the plastic prison and there are no metals for Magneto to use against Sabretooth, Sabretooth wins, no question.

I'm going with Sabretooth for this one.

I think this is a hard round to choose. Magneto has shown some potential in the original trilogy yet it is always hinted that he can do so much more. Sabretooth, or at least this interpretation of him, is carnal, cunning and as said can heal his injuries. However, going from just the scene in X2 when Magneto kills the prison guard and escapes from prison, I'd vote for Magneto. That scene was a true demonstration of his power and shows that he only needs the tiniest of metals to inflict serious damage.

Magneto wins!

I think they really need to step up their "A" game on this one with the battle scenes.

Seriously, the Avengers New York battle sequences takes the cake and easily OWNED all the X Men movies battle scenes combined together.

None of the battle scenes from any of the X men movies can match the grand magnitudes and scales of that Avengers Manhattan battle scenes.

That final beach battle scene from First Class is just simply miserable and pales in comparison to the Avengers Manhattan scene.

I couldn't agree more. The first class battle scenes are no way near as good as that of the original trilogy's and even that, like you said, pales in comparison to the Avenger's fight scenes. The closest battle scene the X-Men movies have to the large scope of the Manhattan battle scene in Avengers is X-Men: The Last Stand's Alcatraz battle. Which, imo, is a badly written and poorly directed mess. A huge opportunity was missed to have the X-Men in a huge large scale battle and instead they use that chance to showcase wolverine and beast. Storm and Callisto's battle was okay but way too short and because of the way the scene is edited it makes storm (probably the most powerful on the team) waste her time with callisto. She didn't fight anyone else in that scene.

Don't get me started on how severely underused Colossus and Iceman and even Kitty Pryde was. Beast was really and truly the only X-Man other than Wolverine that shined in that battle. He took out the most enemies after Wolverine.

Days of future past seriously needs to step up its game when it comes to action. Sure we want the character development but we don't want to pay money to JUST go watch the X-Men discuss their personal issues and mutant politics we pay to watch our fav characters kick some butt. The character development is always a highlight. With the addition of Sentinels it means that all the X-Men involved in this movie will need to reach their full potential in battle or they'd be wiped out by the Sentinels. I expect DOFP to raise the bar for the X-Men movies but also for comicbook/superhero movies as a genre. Like Avengers did and the Dark Knight did before it.

Beast, if he can KO her quickly.

With his speed and agility he should be able to instantly.

If she wasn't holding back, I think Storm could fry Beat. So Storm.

Storm definitely! In the third film alone we see her do some amazing things and kick some ass. The second and third film Storm really lets loose as well, just by standing and staring. I imagine storm could take Beast out without breaking a sweat. No matter how quick he is, she managed to beat superfast Calisto.

:lmao:

Um, Beast has to actually get near Storm to do any damage. Let's play The Four Questions Game, shall we?

1.) How will Beast run and flip around on the ground if Storm coats it with black ice?

2.) Once he's airborne, how will he land a blow against 150 miles/hour gale force winds?

3.) Do we even need to get into the usage of lightning, those terrible rocks that fall from the sky called hail or other related phenomena that kills people every day on accident?

4.) What about the fact that Storm can electrically charge neutron particles in people's blood stream dude, or shut down the electrical waves in their brains? Those little EMPs (electro magnetic pulse) can be nasty little things.

Then again, Beast would have to see her to even begin an attack and we all know Storm can uh...well, manipulate your visibility with that little thing we call fog. LOL

Translation: coming or going Storm would obliterate Beast's furry ass.

If X-Men: The Last Stand got anything right it was displaying the full force of Storm's power. One of the best scenes in the film is when Storm rose to the skies in Jean Grey's neighborhood, and then spun like a f**king top across the lawn and took out THREE mutants in less than 3 seconds of filming time. :funny:

1) when did she do that in the movies?

2 & 3) See below

4) when did she do that in the movies?

Beast is no doubt a little out matched.

But basing these fights off their movie feats, I'd feel that Beast can still have the upper hand. In most scenes that I can remember Storm took a few seconds before she was able to manipulate the weather to her advantage. In a few seconds, judging by X3, Beast could grab her while she's floating up and do some ground and pound for the win.

I'm assuming the fights start off similar to the situation outside Jeans house, distance and "attack mode" wise.

Obviously the farther apart they are the more likely Storm will win.

Well, if we're going by movies alone:

Her long range game is still far superior. In X1 Sabertooth was useless against her gale force/storm storm. Obviously, when it came to controlling lightning her skills advanced from each film to the next. In X1, it took her a second to whip it up with Sabertooth in the train station, but as she was conducting the electricity he was also unable to move. By X2, she had the ability to not only target lightning close and far-range (i.e. with Nightcrawler in the church) but also drive planes out of the sky at will. In X3, she could pin Callisto--and that's even with her super-speed.

And movie Beast doesn't move as fast as movie Callisto.

Besides, even movie-Storm seems to be the most durable of the X-Men next to Logan. Her ass took such beating in the films, esp. by Toad in X1 and Callisto in X3. And yet she kept rebounding physically. So even if it came to hand-to-hand combat with Beast Storm wouldn't be a total wimp.

Storm is pretty powerful and from the examples that lightning strykes has given (the movie ones not the comics ones) it does seem hard to see beast winning this fight under any circumstances. But beast dies have a slight chance and movie beast definitely lets loose during the third act. Beast definitely has skill.

That fight at Jean Grey's house was by far the best Storm power display in the entire trilogy. Followed closely by the tornado xjet scene in X2. If storm is in DoFP they need to do a sequence with her that tops that scene I'm expecting something spectacular hopefully along the lines of the things that LS gave examples of. I would love to see storm create hail. That would be a cool visual. B-)

a few tornadoes like the X2 ones as a weapon versus the sentinels would be one of the best action moments of superheroe movies history
