I've watched every episode, with varying levels of attentiveness.

As I said before, I tend to tune out whatever May is saying or doing since I don't like her character very much.

But yeah I would like to know which scenes or phrases point to a ward may relationship.

...the fact that she was dressing up in a hotel room while Ward came out of the shower. They may not be in a normal relationship, but I'm just saying that they have gotten physically intimate with each other, and from the sounds of their convo in this episode, seem to be doing it still...thus why May being Skye's mother from your theory would make things very weird if they pursue a skye and Ward relationship.

I missed the shower scene, and didn't pay attention to their conversation in this episode. I confess, I find much of the show's dialogue very kitschy and not very believable more often than not, so sometimes I just don't pay attention to certain scenes to avoid the cringe factor.

Overall, I find the show to be entertaining. It simply does not hold up to close inspection, however. So, I try to enjoy it for what it is: one of the few, perhaps the only, 'quality' sci-fi/action series on network tv.

edit: yeah, I tuned out early in ep. 8. Didn't find it very interesting.

Ah, ok. It seems the most likely explanation.

Chloe B is half asian, coulson's white, may is asian, skye is ferreted out at the height of her hacking powers, coulson and may are touchy feely, may is way too emotional about skye's search, she was about to spill the beans before catching herself....

It seems almost like a foregone conclusion.

That's why it's probably an incorrect conclusion.

May seemed pissed about Skye's unprofessional behavior and Coulson involving her in protecting Skye more than anything else. She has never been in favor of Skye being on the team, and with good reason. In this episode she also had to deal with Mike's presence, after he beat her up in the pilot. So May was even more short-tempered than usual and not inclined to put up with Skye's selfish bull****. That's understandable.

At one point May almost blurted out what Coulson was protecting Skye from, but she stopped herself. That was probably something along the lines of, "Your mother was a criminal and SHIELD snuffed her," and not a variation "I am your father, Luke."

Thats true.

Or, coulson wouldn't tolerate her unprofessional behavior unless he were emotionally invested. This is supposed to be a last line of defense to save humanity after all--he shouldn't be cutting anyone any slack for any reason as a result.

As far as may being upset, she's always upset. She's a one note, monotone, monochromatic wonder. It's a problem with her acting, and with the writing;

I don't know if the writers will follow up with the family triad storyline, but they've certainly set everything up in a row:

coulson, may both 50-ish. Skye: early 20's. The ages, races, and extra-professional emotional investments all do line up.

If the writers don't want to follow up with this, that's their decision. But there's no denying that they've set up this story elements to create a lovechild scenario if they wish to pursue it (ie if it sticks with viewers).

That's why it's probably an incorrect conclusion.

May needs to pull the stick out of her ass. She doesn't have much room to be mouthing off to Skye about professionalism when she's banging a co-worker. A relationship that is already showing signs of strain, I might add.

Man, it's like those weird love triangles at Trader Joe's.

I cannot wait for the MayWard relationship to hit this cozy little team like a wrecking ball. Then Skye will really have something to cry about. :lmao:

Hopefully the writers won't go with the ridiculously cliched and contrived story that May is Skye's mother because it's too much like bad fan fiction. There are 12 year olds on Tumblr who started writing the same story after the fifth episode. This show already has enough problems without going into Lifetime Movie mode.

So far, the whole Maye is Skye's Mom Theory has nothing to support it .
And Coulson certainly isnt Skye's Dad .

Huh? Do you need a flashing neon sign reading "who's your daddy?" in order to speculate?

Because that's what folks are doing: speculating. And it's not difficult to see why.

1. skye is mixed race, early 20's.
2. coulson and may are early 50's. White and asian respectively.
3. coulson and may had a rather intimate moment where she inspected his scar
4. coulson is excessively lenient with skye
5. may is far too emotional in her dealings with skye
6. coulson informs skye that may is handling her file regarding her parentage
7. may clearly wants to tell skye who her parents are, nearly blurting it out, despite supposedly being as ice cold as it gets

There is no reality where coulson is or is not skye's father. The writers will make that determination at some point. What is clear is that they've constructed the storyline so far so that they COULD plausibly write that coulson and may are skye's parents in the future. Whether they will do so is anyone's guess.

Having said that, the writers might not want to do that, since it would paint may as a rather promiscuous MILF. :) A MILF sleeping with her daughter's love interest to boot.

This show is nastier than I thought. :BA

I think it's more likely that Coulson or May was the Shield agent that dropped Skye off. They found her when she was a kid and he has been watching her ever since. They know what really went down with her parents and May's past.

Coulson didn't sound too convincing when he said she was found on a doorstep/dropped off on a doorstep. I think both actually knew who her parents were, and that her parents were involved with the guy with a lot of charisma-- not actually her parents, but they have met before.
They dropped her off at the orphanage or whatever, but they were secretly involved with her parents in some way. covering the truth about her parents' death and them working for the charismatic man. If she finds out May killed her parents she might be pissed... May was the Shield agent who dropped her off, but Coulson is the one who couldn't let her go.

The Charismatic man was attempting to mind control Shield agents and take away their children, to train them to be assassins from birth. May disagreed with this and saved Skye from a life of having her mind controlled by the villains.. In the past May stopped a Hydra sub-group the Charismatic man was running. She freed all the children and had to kill many of the parents whose minds were completely controlled by Charismatic man. Black Widow was one of the children May helped free along with Skye at that time... but Widow would later fall into the Russian's hands briefly before Shield brought her back in. Skye was younger than the young Widow we'll see in flashbacks at this time, so Coulson and May dropped her off at the orphanage. It was only later that Coulson starting watching her because she developed a sixth sense for things after the mind control and things that happened to her as a child. Coulson thinks someone else will eventually figure out she has a little bit of a gift for reading people (what he hints about it the one episode). He wanted to bring her into Shield to get her away from Rising Tide or another group. although he is not her father, he is protective of her, would rather have her close to Shield. May wanted Coulson to let her have a life, but Coulson thinks that she will get involved with this world again anyway like Widow did. May doesn't want Skye or anyone to know the full story. Even Coulson has to be delicate admitting his part in killing her parents to save the kids.

After Coulson's speech to mike, I'm kinda leaning towards the idea that he's her father.

Not convinced that May is the mama though, I'd lean towards May killing the mama for reasons I'm unsure of ATM (Mama being a double agent is one theory) as they'e said she knows what happened.

I saw her Jimmy Kimmel Live, she is cute actually in really life and has a good sense of humor

Hehe

there has yet to be a Karaoke bar scenario, to showcase Ms. Bennet's singing talents.

Here's her Kimmel appearance for the benefit of those like me who don't watch late night tv

Now how did I know my name would be mentioned here? :o

For the record, I don't dislike the actress as a person. It's the character I despise. Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to distinguish between an actor and the roles they play. Otherwise, I'd have to hate everyone in Movie 43 as well as every actor who ever played a rapist or a murderer. Bennet could be the nicest person in the world and Skye would still be an annoying disappointment.

Xeno's head would explode. :o

Interesting that Chloe's a part of a foster family herself. Wonder if she suggested that angle to the writers, or if it was just a coincidence.

By the way, the ultimate "Chloe is adorable" story comes via Twitter. On Saturday Clark Gregg and his lovely wife Jennifer Grey were at the SAG Awards. They had to miss their daughter's school play because of it. Chloe Bennet and Elizabeth Henstridge went to the play in their stead to support their daughter and live-tweeted Clark & Jennifer how great their little girl's performance was. How sweet is that? :hrt:

I want to see Skye in more sexy outfits like in "The Asset". Yum.
