Wait...touching her skin burned them? Like...they were specifically burned by contact with her skin, and not possibly by fire or by the monsters or anything else? If that is a detail then I've forgotten it.

I thought Garret implied he got his 3rd degree burns from a baby in the hun-ang province (spelling). It could be misdirection but I took it as implying the 084 had given him the burns and he didn't know Skye was the 084

Garrett said an IED hit him

I thought Garrett got his 3rd degree burns from rescuing Skye from a fire as a baby, where her father apparently died, and then he gave her to another guy (who looks like President Ellis) who raised her as his own. Or maybe that was Ultron who rescued her.

What episode was that? I don't recall any of that

Hehe. I dig the show you're watching. :)

The only detailed account we have of Baby-Skye's rescue from China (at least until Raina started talking about monsters recently) is from the guy that Coulson and May track down in "Seeds". He and Linda Avery were still rookies, and were part of the backup team, called in once the first response team was massacred (presumably by whoever was after the baby, not by the baby herself). They found the senior agent, who had originally called in the 0-8-4, hiding under a bridge, but dead. He had been either shot or cut in the neck (I forget which) and had "bled out" (not burned), but the infant was still alive. No powers were ever seen being used.

When Garrett and Skye first meet (in the episode with Nash, just after Skye was given her badge) they get to talking about painful wounds, and he shows her his third degree burns on his neck. There was some speculation at the time that this might have been due to his being involved in Skye's rescue, but this was nowhere hinted at in the show -- a 3rd degree burn is much different than bleeding out. Furthermore, a past-Garrett, who had no reason to lie, explained his wounds to Ward as being caused on a different SHIELD mission (I forget the details, but it was clearly not in China, or the result of a fire-baby), which ultimately caused him to join HYDRA.

These two events are unrelated (at least until proven otherwise... #itsallconnected).

EDIT;
Ultron is the clue here. :cwink:
Okay... lol, I guess.

I still feel that

So hot theories so far include:

Abigail Brand

Quake

Sarah Garza

Something new the writers made up (guess this is most likely :csad:)

Lesser know theories include:

Did I miss anyone ?

I've noticed since the reveal about Skye's father being a "monster", that Quake seems to be gaining traction, what with her father being Mr. Hyde.

Marvel, I was so startled with that photo of monster Skye, that it took me a minute or two to get my thoughts gathered to post again! It's been so much fun looking back for details we missed in episodes through season one, that when I finish this post I think I must look at that monster photo again to see if there are any details I overlooked.

I posted something about this under another subject here yesterday but it may be relevant here so if you go up a few posts and click the Quake link and look at the comic covers at the top of the page...see Secret Warriors.... look at the sentence between the lines of Secret and Warriors. Then reading about Daisy, J.T. (Hellfire) and Fury, it seems like they used the non-super powered storyline in season one of Skye, Ward and Coulson and AoS as a guide. I don't know if that gives any clue to what might still be to come, or if they switch to something else in season two. But I think it's interesting either way.

I do hope they don't give her Quake's powers though, if in fact that is who she is. Skye doesn't seem like a heart exploding killer to me.

Actor playing Skye's father is cast as "The Doctor".

Seems Jessica Drew may be in play again since her Dad was a doctor that experimented on her daughter.

Spider-Woman was born Jessica Miriam Drew, daughter of Dr. Jonathan Drew (who would later become the High Evolutionary) and Merriam Drew, in London, England. At a young age, her family moves to a lab built by her father and Herbert Wyndham near Mount Wundagore in Transia, where she becomes gravely ill from months of uranium exposure.

I'm forgetting, was the origin of Jessica's powers alien in origin? Or did they come from her father's experimentation?

That would be really cool if there was a connection. I'd love it if Skye ended up actually BEING someone in canon. Would make her arc from season one a lot more bearable. I finally really started digging her as a character toward the end of the season.

Not alien. She was given a spider serum and then stuck in suspended animation for decades. The original origin was that she was an evolved spider who became a woman, but Stan Lee nixed that idea because it was too disgusting. So it's simply now that she had uranium poisoning and was given that spider serum or spider blood and that gave her her powers. But she was actually born in the early part of the 20th century so she was a woman out of time, a bit like Cap. And she's English.

Which is why I don't like the idea of Skye being Jessica at all. It's completely doing away with both her English heritage and her comic origin.

Wasn't Skye on one of the covers of the upcoming 616 comic that's based on the shows characters? If so that would tend to rule her out of being someone we already know?

EDIT: This is the one I'm thnking of. The lady in the middle fiddling with a gadget between Coulson and May could be Skye?

umm, Wyndham is who becomes the High Evolutionary, not Dr Drew.

Why can't Sky just be a new character like the others? Yes she might be alien/inhuman have superpowers and her parents might be Marvel characters. Bt there's no need for her to be. It would also give the shows producers/writers more freedom with her story and abilities.

They've played this up as an origin story for Skye, so if they don't deliver on a superhero many fans will disappointed.

Look at what happened to Heroes ratings in season two when the powers that be decided to de power Peter after pumping his tires in season one.

She doesn't have to be a pre existing Marvel character, but considering they have over 8,000 available to use, it would be pretty hard to come up with an original one.

do we have any hint who killed those agents? her father, hydra, someone else and why, if they where after skye why kill them when they had information? That they didn't trust shield does that suggest hydra or some other outfit infiltrated that group?
