Chris Hemsworth is Thor

As long as he dwarfs the rest of the Avengers in the movie :o They can use camera angles and tricky lighting if they want.

Yea I'm sure with the technology they have these days they will be able to make him look bigger seamlessly. He's definitely gotta be the tallest at least.

Schrieber got away with the lack of size by wearing that sweet trench coat. There's not gonna be any hiding of Thor's lack of mass.
Hemsworth's also a lot bigger than Schreiber, though. He looks like a big, jacked dude to me. So what if his arms don't have a 3-foot girth? We have unrealistic expectations of a normal man based on insanely exaggerated comic book art, which is a bit unfair to him. Maybe he's not precisely as enormous as some would like him, but he's not small by any measure. Thor will be a big guy. If he's not big enough for you, that's your problem. I'm more concerned with the effects, how they write him, etc.--you know, the things that will actually make him be Thor, as opposed to the degree he looks like Thor.

They made that freakishly tall man look like a dwarf in LOTR :up:

Yeah, I don't care if he gets any bigger than he is. I just hope he stands out among the Avengers like he does in the comics. Hardly a realistic example, but I was watching a cut-scene in MUA2 yesterday and he looked so effing tall(and buff) compared to everybody else. It was ridiculous lol.

Quite, Corp.

Your average everyday actor is normally a lot shorter than people would percieve them to be. There's every chance that a 6'3" Hemsworth will tower over most of the actors eventually cast in the Avengers.

Well said, Corp.

Who was it on here that kept on saying that, if Hemsworth was really committed to the role, he would be using steroids to make himself bigger, faster, and that if an actor wasn't willing to take steroids to look the part of Thor, they had to find someone who was?

He'll definitely tower over Iron Man. RDJ's only 5'8".

About the steroid thing - It certainly wouldnt surprise me if someone on here was thick enough to say something like that.

So an actor isn't committed enough if he doesn't do the ol roids to get big for a part?! Whoever said that is a numpty. Roids are worse than smack n crack n that.

Iiiiiiiiiiiiii don't know about it being worse than crack.

I also don't know what "numpty" means but I will def call somebody that before the day is over :o:D

Well the cheap roids off the streets are I would say. That **** is mixed up in bath tubs with who knows what. :barf:

Numpty is a cool word :D

I swear, every time I check into this thread there's a discussion going on about steroids.

Heard they cased Sif! I didn't even know Natalie portman was in this :confused:

Yep. So far we know:

Thor = Chris Hemsworth
Loki = Tom Hiddleston
Jane Foster = Natalie Portman
Sif = Jaimie Alexander
An unknown villain = Colm Feore

Don't forget good old Brian Blessed as Odin

:D

Also Chris looks in good shape from the last pics I saw, his hair will be his and extensions probably.

Once he gets the suit on I'm sure everyone here will be happy.

I was just about to mention get Blessed on this ****!!!! And Brendon Gleeson as Volstagg :up:

Yeah, I thought Blessed was still unconfirmed. Is Gleeson really in consideration or anything for Volstagg? That would be awesome casting.
