Justice League Ciaran Hinds is Steppenwolf

Everything is irrelevant until we get apokalips and darkseid. The second JL movie had to be the team boom tubing there to fight him.

I have a feeling that the second JL movie will be a fight between the League and the [BLACKOUT]Legion of Doom[/BLACKOUT], after seeing that second after credit.

They'll probably save and build up Darkseid for the third movie, if that ever happens.

I hope Darkseid is still on the cards one day.

Main problem is he had no one to bounce off. He didn't have a second in command to have actual dialogue with. He didn't even really have a villain monologue to the heroes. We never get a real sense of who he is or what he's about.

That's true.

We should've seen the character in a flashback being kicked off of Apokolips or something. What has he even been doing all this time? Sleeping?

And why couldn't he invade Earth in the 4998 years before Superman was active?

With a sub-$100M opening there isn't going to be a second movie, much less third.

I can’t see Darkseid happening if Thanos is a big hit.

Given the box office results for the movie so far, suffice to say the chance of a JL2 happening is slim to none, so that end credits scene is now rendered pointless.

This really should have been more of an event movie, something that should've been sold out weeks in advance. But I went last night again and there were actually seats available, and not just in the front.

I have no doubt that JL 2 will happen, just not anytime soon.

Sort of surprised about all the complaints with Steppenwolf.

I thought the CGI was amazing, and Hinds was great. He wasn't deep, but they also didnt waste more screen time than they needed.

I thought Steppenwolf was ok, Hinds voice work was certainly fine. I enjoyed the flashback and absolutely understood that we were dealing with was an alien nut job.

I guess the issue for me remains the same as it was before the film; why Steppenwolf?

I think the claims that it was worse than Maliketh are certainly ludicrous anyway.

Yeah he wasn't great. I think they wanted something similar to marvel. Interesting characters, dull villain. And the way he kept going on about the mother boxes made me think of a small child crying for his mum

He was pretty badass for me too. That scene where he takes on the Amazons....:hmr:

I think because they only wanted a small role for the villain.

And if they only had a small role for say...Brainiac or Darkseid, then that would squandering that villain's potential, like how Marvel squandered Malekith, a villain with a lot more to offer.

Aye that's true. Glad it wasn't Darkseid myself and legion of doom is right way to go. Will automatically make a better film.

I'm so damn thankful they didn't waste Darkseid on this trash.

The only thing to me that put me off was Steppenwolf's power-levels seemed to change.

History lesson says he's the ender of worlds, and it took the Gods, a Green Lantern, along with the combined armies of the Amazons, Humans, and Atlanteans to push him back.

However his second invasion of Earth didn't feel as impactful, most of the damage he did was to a near abandoned (Russian?) village.

I realize that in the movie Wonder Woman theorizes that Steppenwolf is solely focused on assembling the mother boxes and not outright conquering the Earth by force. But I think it was a missed opportunity to not have the JL introduce themselves by saving a big city. And it would have raised the stakes of the movie rather than the saving the village. Lastly i get that they were trying to get us to care more about the village by cutting back to the family, but it wasn't really getting to me

His power levels were all over the place.

I felt like Doomsday could've easily taken him on,

Zod with Black Zero/world engine and his Kryptonian soldiers would've kicked his and his parademons butts

sidenote

his overall goal of

terraforming the world, was literally Zod's goal

The CGI for him was horrible. he looked like Dobby the elf with a giant helmet on.

End of worlds. More like end of goats, am I right guys?

You know, 'cause, 'cause of the horns...
