It doesn't, but it is interesting that she would even go there. Maybe she doesn't care and is willing to just tell it like it is, like Irons or Adams.
If Affleck said that, it would make headline news. It doesn't matter as much if the supporting actors say negative stuff. Some of the Marvel supporting actors have done it too, like Hugo Weaving and Anthony Hopkins. The smaller the role, the less the studio will care. They still probably will, but the mileage may vary depending on who it is.

I don't know what's funnier, her flat out saying that JL wont be as good as the Avengers or the mental gymnastics I'm seeing from some trying to argue that her words are being taken out of context.

I guess there's the possibility she maybe didn't register the question properly?

She seemed to know exactly what she was saying to me.

I'm actually kinda shocked someone would even say something like that prior to release so actually think it might be out of context. If not abd she is just being honest then damn!

Seeing the actual video and watching her process both questions, it's undeniable.

But in her defense it's not like she flat out said that the movie wouldn't be good, just not as good as one of the best superhero films ever made.

Very true.

What did Hopkins say?

So I have actually seen estimates come in around 120 mil for WW opening weekend so its all over the place. The sites I respect the most have it around the 65 mil. I just don't think anyone knows what to expect. I guess we will see once the review embargo lifts. Anyone know when that is?

WW will be huge. I think it'll blow most expectations out of the water. I have my doubts about the actual quality of the film but Suicide Squad shown that audiences will eat up any garbage if it's marketed properly.

The dominant voice in my head is the one predicting that both JL will be very poor and that WW will be average.

And that sucks.

It's a good thing that Diane Lane never went into professional sports or politics -- she has her own opinions and that's a no-no.

It's supposed to be a no-no for Hollywood too, lol.

Yeah, someone on the JL boards said they thought she was just saying no as in "I'm not answering any questions about this". Then why did she say "Short but honest, sorry to disappoint"? If she didn't want to answer the question then she would have said "no comment". They also serve alcohol to the guests on Watch What Happens Live so that also could have been a factor in the honesty.

What did Hopkins say?

Nothing too unbelievable. Just that the Thor movies aren't really his thing and he did them for the paychecks.

I know. Right? She wasn't exactly beating around the bush. There didn't seem to be ANY room for interpretation. "No" meant "No". I'll bet Snyder and some at WB had a frelling cow when they heard that.

At least that would put Wonder Woman at the top of the DCEU heap. [/silver lining]

I question how big it will be. The BvS and Suicide Squad marketing was really good. I don't think it has been good enough to generate a big hit. But, we will see as the tracking gets closer to release date.

Yeah, from what I've seen so far, the WW marketing campaign hasn't been as strong as Suicide Squad or even BvS.

Yeah. I guess unless she doesn't intend on working again with that studio or production company again. Right? I'm so confused cause I think she's so beautiful.

When Snyder first hired Lane to play Martha Kent, he said he was thrilled because she's a serious actress, and they wanted to have a super-serious take on the world of Superman.

Which is ironic, as she ended up providing most of the emotional warmth of the movie.

A better done MoS would have wasted less time on showcasing Jor-El's swimming skills, and invested more time on the Kents.
