I actually liked Cyborg. Was it anything special? Probably not, but I thought he did a good job with the character.

Also ironically I thought it was Cavil's best performance as Superman.

Cyborg was ok. Cavill's Superman in JL was needed 3 films ago.

I see that you often overrate your opinions, but with me that ***** ain't gonna fly.

Sorry, just thought this was funny. Carry on, gents :woot:

Yeah, but I think that is partly a DC vs. Marvel thing, rather than a sexist thing. That's all I'm saying.

Except many of these criticisms are coming from DC fans and Snyder stans.

Yeah, I mentioned that earlier. Downplaying Jenkins in favor of Snyder can be seen as sexist, sure. And maybe it is, but they are only doing that because WW was so well-received compared to the other DCEU movies.

So it is something to cling to.

We don't hear a lot about how Snyder was responsible for Suicide Squad. Could be the male director, in part, but also it was poorly received, so it doesn't offer the same opportunity.

I know it's an online poll and hardly scientific but the fact Affleck isn't even top 3 is kinda mind blowing to me.

Not at all. I don't have the links but there have been several online polls by various different sites done since last year, and Bale has come out on top every single time. Same with Tobey.

Affleck simply hasn't been given enough material to be properly judged in my opinion. Even Clooney got meatier material to work with in B&R. It's going to be one of the cases where we'll never really know what could have been.

In other news, the Punisher is actually really damn good so far. It kind of dragged during the first few episodes but overall this looks to be one of the stronger Netflix/Marvel installments.

Yeah. I'm only three episodes in right now, but the cast seem spot on so far.

[BLACKOUT]Micro and Frank have an interesting start to their relationship[/BLACKOUT], lol.

Its true. But looking at a lot of these movies, the things that change the most are the action scenes. Little bits here and there, or in the case of something like the Hobbit, massively.

Yeah. I'm just thinking since Snyder was on the project longer than Jenkins, the action was probably already decided and storyboarded for the most part. And someone mentioned earlier the second unit director was still the same. So, that could help count for similarities/influence.

Ahh, this is the thread I intended it for.

Saw the Lego Batman Movie. It was great. Perfect for the Batman fan with a sense of humor. Will Arnett= best Batman.

They probably wouldn't have thought of him if Nolan hadn't suggested him. A recommendation from Christopher Nolan can get you far in Hollywood.

I thought there were others on Nolan's list before him, but for one reason or another those guys didn't get/take the job.

I also just heard the /film daily podcast and they said something about the MOS script being pretty good and Snyder came in and changed things. I'm thinking they meant beyond just killing Zod too.

That's right. Snyder was on the list AND the first guy to say yes, so Nolan vouched for him.

I remember hearing that he brought in the guy who wrote 300 to do some touch ups (for the third act specifically, if I remember right). Dunno if that was actually confirmed or not.

The petition has amassed over 50,000 signatures, looks like.

A gem:

People like you expect a film to be filled with exposition and unintelligent cheesy dialogue, but MOS, BVS and WW made something special as described already, Zack Snyder is masterclass filmmaker, who infuses his films with thought provoking themes, amazing visuals, allegories, symbolism and metaphors, no other director does that, aside from Darren Aronofsky. if you don't like films like that, is not the film's or director's fault, it's yours.

It's weird how much better he directed Wonder Woman. You'd almost think it was done by a completely different, better director.
