He floated though.
He floated though.
he isnt superman thats what the show is about. how he became superman besides, flight doesn't really define who superman is what he stands for does.
It's technically not his most useful, as we've seen he can get by without having flight.
can he fly into space and destroy an asteroid heading to earth, can he fly to the sun and power himself, can he follow martian manhunter or Kara into space? flying is essential part of the character, or else he would just be flash with super strength.
And invulnerability, heat vision, ice breath, x-ray vision, super hearing....
yah, just like the flash.![]()
I still stick with my original point, you ofcourse didn't acknowledge the rest of my post.![]()
Theoretically, he could. He hasn't needed to. and probably -wont- need to. Considering this is Smallville, and not Armageddon or Deep Impact.can he fly into space and destroy an asteroid heading to earth,
I don't like the concept of him being able to breathe in space, so I'd chose to disregard this part. He's got plenty of solar radiation on earth.can he fly to the sun and power himself
can he follow martian manhunter or Kara into space?
Alright, fine.

No? Kara's flown into the atmosphere, but hasn't flown in space. I'm not sure why he would -have- to follow them into space, or the atmosphere for that matter, anyway.
Yes. Superman can fly. Is it essential that he learns to fly? Yes. Simply enough, he just hasn't -needed- it yet. One day, he'll learn. As of right now, it's not essential.
I'm pretty sure this is space:...Kara's flown into the atmosphere, but hasn't flown in space...
I don't mind the non-flight. But it was THE SECOND episode that they opened it with him floating...next, he said that e "willed himself" to fly during the tornado in the first season's finale, and they haven't done anything with it since. They don't show anymore of Clark (not Red K Clark, not Bizzaro Clark, not Kal-El Clark) but Clark. I wish I saw him float again or something. All we've had of him flying willingly was: Floating while dreaming about Lana, Willing himself through the tornado, and waking up in the caves after flying in his sleep.....I just wish they didn' t abandon this.

That is your opinion. If he had flight, as well as his current powers, he'd be twice the hero he is now.
And that's your opinion. WeeEE! I like this game!
There is no argueing the fact that flying around is the most iconic signiture of Superman. He was one of the first, if not, the first superhero to ever take the skies. Him not flying around, means he's not really Superman. At the least he should leap great distances, not 'float'.
He was still Superman when he 'leaped tall buildings with a single bound' so why should him flying make him any less superman.
and this show isnt about superman its about the kid who would one day become superman
InsurgenceI don't think you understood what I said. I never said that a flying Clark Kent is 'any less superman'. I said that if they don't want him to fly, than the least they can do to make Clark more Superman-ish is to make him leap great distances. Don't make it any more complicated.
