Classic Rock appreciation thread

I had a friend who knew this insane amount of stuff about the whole "Paul Is Dead" thing. He told me everything. And I forgot all of it.

I'm vaguely obsessed with it. If I posted about it every time I thought about it, people would think of me like they think of SumofGod.

You mean The Complete Recordings, the 10 cd boxed set? That was released 13 years ago. The sound quality is great, but times have changed and it could be improved upon.

The Outlaws are so underrated that I don't think I've even heard of them.
I recommend: Green Grass & High Tides, Hurry Sundown, Cold & Lonesome, A Wish, Song In The Breeze, If Follows From the Heart and my favorite by them (and the one that the rest of my band used against me to make me start singing...) There Goes Another Love Song.

Thanks, I'll check them out sooner or later.

There's a lot of bands whose stuff I still seriously need to get into.

Yeah, I heard about that. Wasn't too familliar with him, but it was ad to hear nonetheless.

Shame about Syd Barrett, too. :( :down :down
Yeah, they were both great songwriters.:(
I take it you haven't heard any Love albums? If not do so asap.

You have an awesome list too. In fact when I first read your list, it made me listen to the song Kashmir for the first time, now it's one of my favorites (as you can see from my list).

It's always good to know to that I've turned a person on to the wonders of "Kashmir".

It really is a great song. Hypnotic in a sense.

It's a very intense, hypnotic song. It's a very atmospheric piece of music. Page's masterpiece.

I thought Plant was the main writer of that one?

Plant came up with the song itself but it's Page's shining moment as a musican. The riff is just...WOW.

Ah. Thanks. I just wish I could get inspiration like these people. I'd do anything to get song writing lessons from someone like Bob Dylan or Pete Townshend.

both of those list are amazing (dwarf lord and anthonynasti)
