Some more quotes....

Greenblatt also dispelled any notion that Community has been effectively canceled when the network pulled the cult favorite from its midseason schedule. As to when Communily will return, that is still unclear, but presumably it will be summoned if one of NBC’s six comedies on tap for midseason underperforms. “We have a really tight schedule with comedies, so it’s really going to be a matter of looking at what happens with the six comedies we’ve got at midseason,” Greenblatt said. NBC is not looking beyond Community‘s current Season 3 for now. “We’re just going to look at the success of what pilots yield, what the scheduling needs are and make that decision closer to the upfront,” Greenblatt said about the timing of the Community renewal decision.

What he got wrong: Not much. He didn’t please Community fans, however. “We have a really tight schedule with comedies and there’s not a lot of place to put them.” Then: “Fourth season? I don’t know. Those are really hard questions to answer at this point.” Not good, people.

He also endorsed Whitney, which didn’t go over great in a room full of critics. “I know the backlash of the laugh track," he said. But also: "I'm pleased with Whitney." Sigh.

But then again, what was he going to do – trash a show that’s actually working for him? Promise to renew a critically acclaimed show that’s not pulling in big numbers?

Isn't Whitney doing ****ing terrible in the ratings too though?

It premiered with about double Community's current numbers, but yeah, since then, they're about even. And given that one is universally acclaimed by everyone that knows it exists and the other is pretty much universally hated, NBC would really be a bunch of pricks to cancel this over Whitney.

NBC are a bunch of pricks so brace yourselves for the worst.

IMO they are still looking at Up All Night. Whitney is not a threat to community. 30 Rock and Up All Night is IMO. but IMO they already know if they will do season 4. its best to read Dan Harmon's twitter.

community fans on the other hand are again showing that they have no idea what they are talking. there is this funny idea that if the community cast is hosting SNL that the show will be saved. crazy.

30 Rock can **** off, as well. :o

It's been outdone by Community, just in terms of sheer irreverance.

I guess NBC thinks there's only room to keep around so many shows because they are critically acclaimed. So it'll either come down to 30 Rock or Community and really at this point Alec Baldwin even wants out of 30 Rock so...

With no Office lead in (which was already weak) and Whitney has to self start I expect it to bomb.
The one thing Community has in it's favour is that it's close to syndication and Sony can cut a deal with NBC to ensure they get one more season.

Community will shift to Wednesdays and do poorly too but it will at least be on the air.

30 Rock will be back for another season (likely final), Alec Baldwin quietly signed up for one more year. Imagine NBC losing 30 Rock, Community and The Office in 2013 - They'll probably keep The Office alive until 2014.

If they do, there will probably a significant turnover of the cast.

I really do wish The Office had just ended with Carrell. :csad:

It's just.... not right anymore.

I actually tried watching Whitney because I thought she was really funny on roasts and on Howard Stern. However, her comedy on those things does NOT reflect on that horrible show. It was cringe worthy. I kind of felt sorry for her because she REALLY pushed it on Stern and he watched it and Stern said, "...I don't even want to talk about it because I like Whitney too much as a person...".

That tells you something. :oldrazz:

I'm hoping to see Community back on the air soon...maybe Feb. or March and get the fourth season.

Apparently, Bart Simpson has been backstage at Community, and he's asking the tough questions. [charley_koontz/Twitter]

Annie as Kitty Pryde is too perfect. Brie should play her if the character is ever used again.
