I love his backlash at the end of that episode ''what is wrong with you people, your love is wierd''

I loved the very end of the episode where they blamed Todd for everything and he was sitting right listening to everything. A single tear ran down his face. :lmao:

'Community' stars address renewal hopes, Chevy Chase talk at NBC Press Day

With a room full of reporters, and panel time already set aside for "Community," surely this would have been a super opportunity to slip in a big announcement about a fourth season renewal, right?

No dice. No announcement came or appears to be immediately forthcoming.

Of course, Joel McHale and co-stars Yvette Nicole Brown and Oscar Winner Jim Rash were asked if they'd heard anything.

"Oh yeah. We got renewed!" McHale jokes. "They didn't tell you? They told us a while ago."

Please note, just in case "McHale jokes" didn't make it clear, that McHale was joking.

"We won't know until they tell us and they haven't told us anything," Brown said, pointing to NBC's upfront presentation a month from new as the likely date for notification.

McHale made clear that he's not viewing the lack of official word as a negative, noting, "None of the comedies have been picked up yet, so either NBC's going with zero comedies..."

The other hot button issue that journalist tip-toed around for a while was the recent war of words and voicemails between series creator Dan Harmon and Chevy Chase.

"The update is that there are four more voicemails coming out and that'll make it a whole series," McHale cracked.

Asked about Chase's comments that he doesn't find "Community" funny, McHale graciously explained, "He says that every day. And we can just say, "Well, it's not 'Karate Dog'..."

Despite the apparent tension and rampant baseless speculation about Chase's future on "Community," McHale remained positive.

"Those voicemails, he obviously wasn't very happy, but he loves the cast and my guess is that he will be back if we're back," he said. "Let's get the pick-up and then we'll see what happens."

Surprised none of the comedies have gotten picked up.

They seem to have made it their mission to get Daybreak into every episode from now on.

The Dean continues to be tremendous.

"I forgot my Puttin' On The Ritz cane."

:lmao:

It was a heady, conceptual episode that really only caters to long-time fans of the show.

Troy being injected with truth serum was the best scene.

"I'm more turned on by women in pajamas than lingerie. I just like to know they're comfortable. I didn't get Inception! I didn't get it! Too many layers!"

Fell below 3 million last night.

That's really the only moment I laughed this week. But it was still a good episode.

Oh wait, I laughed during the end credits scene as well. "We can put it back!"

And a series low for the demo.

While the future looked bright a few weeks ago, I say Community has fallen back into cancellation territory. Despite being NBC's top comedy in the demo a couple weeks ago with The Office in reruns, things aren't good when this time last year NBC had renewed their comedies already. Certainly that Comedy Central deal has helped and may secure a 13 episode order for season four.

With news that NBC's multi-camera comedies in development are strong and the disaster that is NBC Thursday/Wednesday nights I could see them cancelling the series, maybe keeping it as a midseason replacement so they don't have to air reruns for their other shows.

All the networks are doing more comedies, with Fox going for 2 hours on Tuesdays and CBS likely expanding to 2 hours on Thursdays. Wednesdays were a big hole for NBC this year, they did okay with Whitney/Chelsea but they weren't the hits they needed.

The only plus for Community is that Smash and Grimm were the only new shows that have been renewed for next season. Up All Night is a toss up while Awake is toast along with the soon to be canceled like Harry's Law. Will be a very interesting Up Front week.
