Maybe this could be a sleeper hit.

One positive review, and one negative review of "Conan The Barbarian" here: http://www.conanmovieblog.com/2011/07/31/early-reviews-for-conan-the-barbarian/#more-3200
^It hasnt even had a release in the US yet so a sequel is unfortunately looking like a long way off.
Wait, so it never got a cinema release? I could have sworn it was in Aussie cinemas at one point. I remember seeing posters
Yes, I thought the first half of the film was the strongest. James Purefoy turned Solomon Kane into a really deep and conflicted character. The only possible complaint I could level at it was that some of the villains were a bit uninspiring, but that's just another good reason for a sequel!Like John Millius and Marcus Nispel have done on their Conan films, an origin has been provided for the character of Solomon Kane, but, though Howard never provided an origin for Kane(just like he didn't with Conan), it really works for the film. James Purefoy is excelllent in the role!! SK doesn't have the budget of the new "Conan The Barbarian", but it manages to do much in spite of. This is the stuff Hollywood should be releasing instead of crap like "Jonah Hex".
Either way, Solomon Kane is really worth watching. It's been released on blu ray and dvd in the UK. I saw it online and it was fu**** amazing. It's a must see for anyone reading this thread.
So Solomon Kane is really good? I've had that sitting in my hard drive waiting to be watched for a while now but keep getting sidetracked. I'll definitely have to watch it now
