The Dark Knight Rises Concerns about TDKR

It has a similar tone as Year 1.

And of course Batman taking out swat members in an abandoned building. I don't recall the kidnapping though.

Yeah, Gordon's kid even gets dropped from a great height at the end and Batman catches him.

.... hence why I could see Nolan making Selina a call-girl/petty thief, and how I could see Gordon in a love affair with Sarah Ellen

I think that Nolan drew the best elements from various comics. He didnt stick to one creator's perspective or ideas, hence why Begins wasnt Y.O, just influenced by it. Ditto with TDK and TKJ and TLH.

Pretty much everyone after Miller has ignored his [blackout]****ES****ES****ES****ES[/blackout] origin and i hope Nolan does too.

A compliment. Oh my god, I just read a compliment. I'm screencapping this.

Nice catch with Gordon's kid, guys.

As for fighting the cops in the other building, I can see how that could be loosely inspired by that in that he's fighting cops in general, but the context and situation are completely different. He's fighting them to save the hostages, not because they're sent in after him. He's not on the run or hiding from them, but after the Joker.

Either way:

That.

My biggest concern about TDKR is that the Falafel guy won't be back :(

:)

No, but seriously, Alfred and/or Lucius are going to get their asses handed to them by Bane. And Selina Kyle will be a call-girl.

You heard it first here

I just hope TDKR gets back to its roots from Batman Begins. TDK's structure is played out very differently from Batman Begins, and that is one factor that I could see people calling a flaw. We are not always with Batman. I wouldn't even suggest that he is the main character in TDK. So I hope TDKR focuses more on bruce/batman like BB did.

Also in my opinion, BB felt like more of a smart, well crafted movie with heart while TDK felt more like a generic big action blockbuster. I want TDKR to get back to that

I'm worry this film will be too awesome for this planet....but since anne hathaway is in it, i've no worry now~

I have no concerns they can create great story's with the 2 villians they have chosen. They even can create a better story then TDK.And i know there will be a 3rd villian.

Which formula do you think they're going to go with? The one that made them 370 mil, or the one that made them over a billion dollars? :cwink: They've already incorporated The Dark Knight title into the third movie.

TDK was a blockbuster movie with heart and soul. It's a huge cut above any comic book movie yet. There was absolutely nothing generic about it.

Alfred, yes. I could easily see Bane finding his way to the cave, slapping Alfred around for a bit, before Batman arrives unaware. If I'm not mistaken, I think that's how it happened in Knightfall.

Lucius has no business to be near any of the action, a la TDK. He helps from a desk. No matter how it was written, the scene would forever look like Lucius running up confused: "I'm here, Batman. . here to help. . didn't you get the memo?" Like I said, unless a full-out-breach on WayneTower, Lucius has no business near the action.

As for the ideas on Catwoman being the cooze Miller wrote her out to be, I give it a 70/30 chance. Anything is possible, but considering she will be the love interest, and the bit of back-lash TDK got for being too dark for PG-13, I bet they stir clear of that.

When I read comments like this, I think of two things:

1. Scenes like the ones on the Ferry were completely lost on the commenter
2. The commenter is just going against the grain.

Which one is it for you?

He entitled to this opinion though Conebone69 is in the minority.

I do disagree that TDK felt like a generic blockbuster completely since it broke mold in the superhero genre, even more so than Batman Begins, and it was a lot more intelligent than your average Summer film. Also, I think the acting overall was better too. While Batman Begins had (to a certain degree) more warmth, the dialog is a little haphazard though poetic in nature.

TDK was big (maybe too big) but it was big in a good way. It even let the minor character shine (like the Russian and Lau), while you even get insight into Alfred's past, which is new to me.

Again, comic book and geeks fans prefer Batman Begins while film lovers and critics prefer The Dark Knight. Either way, they're good for cinema.

Exactly. No im not saying TDK was bad, it was great! But im just saying it felt more generic compared to BB

Wait what?

Cher is in the the Catwoman suit in the final act. That's something that concerns me.

I'm not convinced it was the formula so much as the hype.

I want a new formula, a different sort of vibe. It'd be cool if each movie in the trilogy was it's own beast like that.
