Connie Nielsen IS Hippolyta

Most of the girls resemblance to their dads so... Zeus will be the one who will resemblance her.

*Jokes thinks of Gal with gray hair and a long gray scruffy beard*

The resemblance is uncanny :oldrazz:

^ For once, I'd like to see a Zeus with a more physically imposing likeness. Javier Bardem would really do the role justice, and I can definitely see Gal's WW being the progeny of a union between him and Nielsen. I don't even care that he's a popular choice around here for Darkseid.

I really do like the choice. It's a great pick.

So, what other roles are we thinking are, yet, uncast?

I like this casting. I remember her in Soldier with kurt russell, she was easy on the eyes back then. I think her accent is a bonus aswell. I think this is better casting than kidman or wright.

I agree. Kidman remains a bigger name, but I'd say that Nielsen is a better actress. And as ArmsHeldOut pointed out, she fits the role of Gadot's Diana's mother better than Kidman (or Wright) from visual standpoint.

I dunno. Robin just comes across as too cold to me. But it could be my over-exposure to HoC speaking.

A ruler needs some coldness, and also if she's keeping secrets from her daughter.

The only thing I've seen her in is Gladiator. It was a good movie, and she was good in it. I never put much thought into who would play Hippolyta (aside from thinking it'd be really ****ing cool if it were Robin Wright), but I can say I never once considered Nielsen.

How much "more" is enough for you? One of the other people I mentioned is the lead. Gadot is Wonder Woman. lol

What are roles not worth mentioning? You think/assume they're extras? Not sure why you're asking for "more" when you don't know how many there are in the first place.
I mean how about one more at least in a prominent role. So far we only have Gal and Said. There shouldn't be much confusion about what I'm saying, its pretty evident, lol.

I love this casting choice! Can't believe I didn't ever think of her as an option before.

She is also in The Devils Advocate. Wasn't she with Lars Ulrich of Metallica for a number of years?

Well…Nielsen, Kidman and Wright are all a tad WASPy. (Though maybe Diana gets her Mediterranean looks from Dad. ;)) True, Nielsen (like Gadot) is tall. But so is Kidman. Wright and Elena Anaya would be on the short side for Amazons (if that’s who they’re playing).

Maybe Wright and Anaya are short Amazons... or Shamazons for short. :o

Artemis is who I am waiting for.

Granted, as said before, there isn't the strongest resemblance to any of the three aforementioned actresses. Where I do see a commonality between Gal and Nielsen, however, is in their uncommonly striking countenance: they both exude a kind of alluring sexuality. Nielsen also, while obviously lighter skinned, doesn't appear to be quite as pale as Kidman.

Except you don't know that. There is no confusion except not realizing what you're saying is arbitrary and presumptuous. Why don't you complain about diversity after actually seeing the movie and how the roles play out? You have this silly perfect number for POC when the story will determine what actors they will need.

Actually, you only have the Said guy. Gal's family originally emigrated from Europe before settling in Israel (she describes her ethnicity as "1/4 Polish, 1/4 Austrian, 1/4 German, and 1/4 Czech"), so I wouldn't exactly call her a POC.

Sorry. Not helping. :O

Gal Gadot looks like a white lady to me, not as white as my sister in law but white all the same. I get that she isn't white in the same way say Nicole Kidman is and I appreciate that but I wouldn't call her a person of color.

Again I still do appreciate Snyder going for a slightly different look when it comes to Wonder Woman. And I wasn't really asking for a POC to play Wondy. I do hope we get a female POC as a Superhero in the near future though.
