LOCATION: Transia

Transia is a fictional European country on the Earth of the Marvel Universe. It is located between Transylvania, Romania and Yugoslavia. More than 90% of its people live in one large town (East Transia) and a number of smaller villages located at the base of Mount Wundagore.
Tranisa was a former section of Wallachia before that country integrated with Moldavia in 1857 to form Romania. Transia broke with the two larger countries and established its status as an independent state, and was recognized 20 years later as an autonomous, neutral nation. Transia is governed by an elected official (burgomeister) who is bound by law to follow the country's constitution to the letter. The nation's main source of income comes from the uranium found in and around Mt. Wundagore -- Herbert Edgar Wyndham funded a national non-profit trust with the money gathered from his uranium mine that still provides money for Transia to operate its government programs, and thus they have no need of outside investors or a tourist market. This, along with the (intentionally-fostered) negative international image, keeps many foreigners out of Transia.
Transia (and/or Mt. Wundagore) is where Chthon is imprisoned, and was where the men of the Russoff line were afflicted with the curse of lycanthropy. It was also the birthplace of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, and of Jessica Drew. It was the base of operations for the High Evolutionary, and the source of the "radioactive clay" used by the Puppet Master.

SIDENOTE: People inhabit the village; but, you can expect them to be hiding in their dwellings. Mt. Wundagore is not off-limits; but, the High Evolutionary's base is not there any longer. Neither is the radioactive clay that the Puppet Master uses.

Random vs Hisako Ichiki
Okay, it's teenage boy versus teenage girl in this one, and it's not going to be a love story. These are both pretty strong characters that can endure a lot. Thing that is going to put things in Hisako's favour? Not being dead. The fact is that she will be capable of finding info on Random (he was a frequent reluctant ally of X-Factor) and use it to her advantage. She'll know that she has to take him out in a quick succesion of blows so that he won't be able to retaliate.

Luckily, Hisako is a lot smarter than our friend Random. While he's trying to check out the Transian chicks, she'll be in hiding, waiting for the perfect time to jump him and knock the living daylights out of him thanks to that nifty armour she has. Thing is, even if that fails, there is little that Random can do to her, since she can pretty much withstand whatever he tries to throw at her, so it comes down to smarts, which Hisako has in the bag. Heck, she's tapped to be the future leader of the X-Men, she ain't dumb.

WINNER=HISAKO ICHIKI

REMATCH: Slapstick vs Abyss (AoA)
Ah, my second rematch this week. Joy, oh joy. Last time we had Slapstick and Abyss going up against each other without knowing too much about one another (aka nada zilch NOTHING!), so both would be walking away with a little more experience under their belt. Experience that Slapstick can fully use to his advantage. Knowing just what Abyss is capable of will allow him to be extra careful in his approach, and a little more hard-hitting in his tactics. Abyss on the other hand, really has no definitive advantage to last time being a tie, since Slapstick, and what the hell he can do and where he gets his stuff from will still be an enigma to him. The big flowing void in Abyss' body though, Slapstick will know to stay out of. It's this extra knowledge that will allow Slapstick to finally beat Abyss.

WINNER=SLAPSTICK

The Kingpin Vs. The Mandarin

The kingpin is rich, influential, and physically strong. it would be no great task to find information on the Mandarin. "Hell, Stark. There is a gentleman in China calling himself the Mandarin interfering in my affairs... anything you could tell me about him?" or even just look it up, hire goons to find out, whatever it takes. Have Smythe create defenses for the damndable rings, even if he can only create defenses for Half of the rings, He would then be able to power through the Mandarin's attackes and lauch his own. the Mandarin is brilliant, but not a hand to hand fighter. The Kingpin is perfectly capable of mixing it up, even with some meta-humans. He is brilliant and physically trained. He will find ways around the Mandarin's rings and then put him under the floor and grind him into dust with his gucci shoes.

Ultimus vs. Doppleganger:

Sadly, this really is no match. While it's hard to find information on Ultimus, enough is provided to see how this outcome would play out. A list of Ultimus' powers state:

"Superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility and reflexes, metahuman durability, besides the ability to manipulate cosmic energy "

Now, a look at Doppleganger's powers:

"Doppleganger is basically an evil counterpart to Spider-Man and his powers mimic that of Spider-Man in speed, stamina, and strength...Plus has the extra agility and use of four extra arms...He cannot talk and is basically mindless."

The main thing you should notice with Doppleganger is that he's "basically mindless." His instinct would be, when in danger, to attack. And, against the power cosmic, he'd be fried like a spider flung into a fire pit.

Now, as stated in another brief bio, Ultimus is "the only Kree Eternal still known to be alive." He's over 3000 years old, and has "metahuman durability," meaning someone like Doppleganger would be very hard-pressed to make much of an impact.

Winner: Ultimus

Match 5:

Microbe (TRIGGER) bio

vs.

Maxam (ICEMAN/PSYLOCKE) bio

What we have here is a pretty decent match-up. Maxam is a decent fighter who can change size and could under most circumstances, could take Microbe, but this situation is perfectly suited to Microbe's abilities.
¡Hurra para hombres más grande!

The Rundown

In hand-to-hand fight, Microbe would be smacked down before Maxam could get so much as a case of the sniffles. However, this location makes this match a much, much more different fight. As we all know, germs are responsible for half of the millions of illnesses (sp?) out there. I don't think I have to describe all the kinds of nasty that having a legion of germs launched at you could bring about.

As far as his bio has lead me to believe, Maxam has no superhuman resistances to poisons and viruses outside of being able to change size and reduce the progress of a virus in his body. He's no doctor either, so I doubt he could tell the differences between siphylus and the flu, and without the ability to treat any diseases, Maxam is SOL. All it would take is for Microbe to send a bunch of nasty germs and bacteria his way, and then Mircobe could just wait him out. All he'd need is time, and stealth.

Transia's population being what it is, it would hardly take more than one person to infect a whole village. In fact, there's nothing stopping Microbe from infecting a whole village at once. Prep time wouldn't give Maxam much in the way of avoiding this form of bio-warfare either. Without proper medical training, he probably wouldn't being able to recognize an infected villager from a healthy one, and for that matter, how would he recognize lil' ol' Microbe in a crowd? Sure, he's no size 1 model. But unless he reads minds, he wouldn't be able to discern a simple lie from the truth. There aren't a whole lot of super-computers in Transia, nonetheless one that'd give him access to Microbe's identity.

As I said earlier, the most Microbe would have to do is infect a village and lie low somewhere else while poor Maxam tires himself out looking for Microbe in several villages.

Microbe Wins. :meow:

Abyss (AoA) Vs Slapstick

Okay, so now both sides have a bit more information on the other. I think this will help Slapstick a bit more than Abyss, but there's something in this round that will seriously help Abyss out... people!

Okay, so here's the deal. Neither of these people will blend in in this community, so the screams and words of confusion will direct the two toward one another. Slapstick will know to stear clear of Abyss' void (which will be nearly impossible). Keep in mind, Abyss' chest isn't just a hole he throws things into... it's a vacuum that sucks things in. He can use it to suck in half a block if he so desired, pulling in people and such.

The idea is that if Abyss can't get Slapstick to come near him (and I"m curious how Slapstick can win if he doesn't come near) then he'll force him to. So how will that happen? Abyss will play on Slapstick's hero conscious. Basically, during their fight, he will find a child victom and take him in his tendrels. He will begin to suck him into his void, and force Slapstick to come to the rescue. Slapstick will now not only be focusing on defeating Abyss, but mostly he will be focusing on saving the child. Abyss will then intensify his vacuum, and as he sees other citizens being drawn near, he will grab them with tendrels and Slapstick will be forces to spread himself thin saving them, and as his attention is divided, Abyss will continue to intensify his vacuum and claim Slapstick with a tendril. It'd be a bit of a struggle to pull him in, but if Abyss keeps pulling kids and other people close to his void, Slapstick will follow while trying to save them, and once he gets close enough were he'd be near impossible to resist the vacuum, Abyss will throw out more tendrels and pull him in.

Slapstick's heroic ways will be his downfall. Too bad for him that Abyss from the Age of Apocalypse is sadistic and doesn't mind killing kids to get what he wants.

Winner - Abyss (AoA)

Mandarin vs Kingpin

This really shouldn't be that tough of a match for Mandarin. Kingpin is no slouch, obviously, but really tough and strong, there's not much going for him in this fight.

Mandarin can get info on Kingping and Wilson Fisk through his connections. (Even if Mandarin didn't know Fisk and Kingpin were the same person, once he saw the name and picture, he'd put it toether). And even if he didn't know about Fisk's abilities, they wouldn't factor into the fight very much.

Why won't Fisk's durability be a factor? Because Mandarin wouldn't need to be anywhere near Fisk to take him down. What can Mandarin do from a safe distance to Fisk? Using his rings, Mandarin can freeze him, disintegrate him, electrocute him, burn him, and rearrange the matter in his body. (Fisk may be able to withstand a hit with the impact beam or a strong wind from the Vortex ring.)

All those are nice safe distance attacks. What if Fisk sneaks up on Mandarin and gets in close? Mandarin is well trained in a variety of martial arts. So he should be able to fight Fisk as long as he avoids a direct blow. Now, it's unlikely Mandarin could physical hurt Fisk in a brawl, but all he'd have to do is survive the few seconds it takes to use a Mento-Intensifier ring on Fisk and take control of his mind. Then Fisk would be at Mandarin's mercy, and being the villain he is, Mandarin would have no qualm's about killing the Kingpin.

Mandarin wins

A character can't interact with anyone during prep-time. They're on their own with information. So no hiring goons, calling Stark, or using Smythe. Only things he'd already have access to.

Mandarin is a scientific genius and could also develop additional weapons to help in battle. He could build (or use pre-built) robots or guns. Maybe capture Fisk in a trap like a forcefield. He could even control the minds of any villiagers and use them as human shields.

And I need to revise one of my statements in my original argument. Turns out Mandarin can split cinderblock and mild steel with a punch. He's even punched through Iron Man armor while wearing a forcefield (which he could also wear in this fight). So he may actually be able to put a good hurt of Fisk and a brawl afterall.

There are a number of characters Kingpin could take down in this tournament to move on, especially in a brawl. But with the distance attacks available to him, Mandarin isn't one of them.

Mandarin wins

as for Mento-Intensifier, that is a moot point. Fisk has shown to have the force of will to throw off the influence of the Purple Man, after that, there isn't much that can control you.

So connections aren't allowed, you can't use them if Kingpin can't use his. and given Mandarin's rap-sheet, there will be enough for the Kingpin to aquire the neccessary protections. He has a vast arsenal of fire arms, protective devices, and the power to purchase more.

Now you said that they only have what they already have access to, well, in that case no inventing for the Mandarin if there is no commisioning by the Kingpin.

as far as the villagers, the Kingpin couldn't careless about them. He'd tear through them like tissue paper, using them the same way the Mandarin did. put them in front of whatever beams the Mandarin fires. Fisk is just as brilliant as the Mandarin and just as ruthless.

In that case, Fisk would likely be able to resist the ring. But Mandarin wouldn't necessarily know this, and still try to use the ring. And even if it does distract or stop Fisk for only a few moments, that's time the Mandarin can use to his advantage.

That's true. Mandarin couldn't use any people in his criminal networks. But any computer information is fair game, as well as any public information.

Mandarin also has a variety of technology to bring and use during the fight. And at least some of his tech is based on advanced alien science.

Mandarin naturally has the ability and skill to build new equipment as long as the parts are available (which likely would be at his various hideouts). It's no different than Forge being able to build something during prep-time.

Fisk, on the other hand, isn't an inventer. That's why he uses Smythe. But he can't use Smythe to create anything new during prep-time, just equipment Smythe's already created (as seen in the comics), which you rightly said he'd bring to the fight anyway.

Neither Fisk or Mandarin would care about the villiagers. Mandarian wouldn't care if Fisk ripped them apart, and Fisk wouldn't mind doing it. But while Fisk is fighting the villiagers to get to the Mandarin, Mandain is getting all the time he needs to use his rings and take Fisk down.

Mandarin wins

Random vs Hisako Ichiki

Here is a situation that Random is perfect for. Hisako is a mutant whose mutant power is to create a powerful psionic armor around her body. Random is a mutant whose mutant power is to counteract any mutant power. This means everytime Random goes against a mutant he has a naturally massive advantage, and this case is no different.

There's so many ways Random could adapt to this situation. He could develop the mental power to disuprt Hisako's mental control and ability to maintain her armor.

Or he could make his body immune to the armor. This would mean any attacks on him, like a punch or stomp, would have no effect. His body would just pass through the armor. In fact, he could just jump through the armor and get to her that way.

Hisako has a lot of potential, but Rando happens to have her number.

Random wins
