Stormer, you missed the Constrictor/Demask match.

You voted for both Strucker and Cheng.

My Votes:

Damask

Zhou Cheng -
I went back and forth. It was a hard choice, but great debate by both sides.

Smasher -
Snowbird was realy underestimated in this battle, especially after her appearance in Incredible Hercules. Too bad there wasn't a debate by Vanguard. I think it's almost safe to say we've lost another person.

Super-Skrull

Demask
Super Skrull
Smasher
Could have been a great debate
Strucker
WOW another great debate, but in the end I had to hand it to him. As I am writing this I am still not even 51% confident in it. I want to say Cheng now...

Demask (AoA)
Zhou Cheng
Super Skrull
Smasher
Though I think Snowbird could take him with a proper debate

Demask

Strucker -
If he can defeat him from a distance then he has a good shot and could pull this off but it is 50/50 and I am just making a guess here

Smasher -
To be very honest if Vanguard had participated I would have most likely folded based on here last appearance in Herc

SuperSkrull

Final Results:

Damask defeats Constrictor 6-2

Zhou Cheng ties with Baron Strucker 4-4

Smasher defeats Snowbird 8-0

Super-Skrull defeats Green Goblin-Urich 7-1

Opening Debate: Black Tom Cassidy vs. Jaine Cutter

This is one of those interesting matches where it's pretty tough to determine who exactly would be the winner. Both characters are pretty invulnerable. Let's look at the bios.

Jaine Cutter:

*Jaine can cover herself at will with virtually invulnerable armored white Styx Iron skin. She can also extend talons from her fingers, capable of cutting through most substances, and manifests fangs and facial spikes too. She has the ability to summon and communicate with ghosts (Sciomancy); she seems to be able to recognize the scent of angels and demons.

*Jaine carries a Breathing Gun, one of two in existence, which alerts the user to demons by hissing, and can slay them with its sentient bullets.

Black Tom Cassidy:

*Black Tom Cassidy originally generated blasts of concussive force or heat by using wood as the focus for his power; typically a wooden shillelagh. Following genetic engineering, Cassidy could channel the energy he generated directly through the parts of his body that were grafted to a wood-like substance. Since his transformation into a plant-like being, Cassidy can grow to immense size, thus gaining superhuman strength, and can regenerate damaged or destroyed body parts with great speed. He can also mentally control all plant life within his vicinity, and can distribute his consciousness amongst plants he controls. Cassidy can drain the life force of organic beings.

The second part of Jaine's bio doesn't concern Black Tom, for he's not a demonic being. Thus, her "Breathing Gun" would have no effect on him.

One important note to point out is that Attilan does have plant life. There are of note at least a couple Inhumans whose powers are the result of plant life, and as seen in various Inhuman appearances, it's shown that this plant life is around.

Now, Jaine does have her armored iron skin; but, getting through the skin is not how Black Tom necessarily works. He can gain access by any hole she has on her body. As one of his bios state, "he was also able to siphon off the life energy of living beings by sending specialized tendrils into their body cavities."

So, while Jaine and Black Tom are somewhat invulnerable, Jaine does have this one flaw that will allow Black Tom to siphon off her life energy.

Winner = Black Tom Cassidy

D'Spayre VS. Mr. Hyde

This is a match between a super strong brute with mental instabilities vs. someone who thrives on said mental instabilities. Mr. Hyde has never been a very sane person and D'Spayre has the power to find exactly what it is that will make him weep and cast an illusion to make it seem so. Hyde's alter-ego would be smart enough to figure that out, but that intelligence is wasted on Hyde.

Winner=D'Spayre

I'm gonna fold on my Caliban VS. Darkhawk match. This is not the Caliban I thought I would have and he's pretty much useless against someone of Darkhawk's caliber. :(

Opening Debate: Caliban vs. Darkhawk

Darkhawk's Bio:

Energy blasts
Energy shield
Flight
Night vision
Claw cable
Accelerated healing factor
Superhuman strength

Caliban's Bio:

*Caliban is a mutant with the ability to psionically sense other mutants out to several miles away and track their movements. He also has the ability to psionically sense, absorb, and turn the psionic energy of in the fear radiated by humans around them and to turn it against them, inducing more intense fear within their minds.

*He is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant, having been trained by Iceman and later Apocalypse.

My opponent passed on this match; but, I don't think it's that one-sided. Caliban still has a great power, that being his ability to "sense, absorb, and turn the psionic energy of fear" against his opponent. Of course, this fear doesn't necessarily defeat Darkhawk. (But, if my opponent wishes to take away his conceding of the match, I won't hold it against him.)

Darkhawk has some awesome powers, too. Neither character will know about the other, and neither is familiar with the location. Of course, I do believe

Winner = Darkhawk

Zhou Cheng Vs Baron Strucker Rematch

Okay, you would think that a rematch would favor Strucker more due to his more strategic mind, but I think Zhou favors just as much. The biggest argument last time was whether or not Strucker would strike from a distance and if Cheng could dodge it and get close enough to take over Strucker's mind.

Okay, so now that Cheng knows of Strucker and his tactics, he won't walk around looking for Strucker. He'll know that Strucker can track him and that he may potentially be a coward to attack from a distance. So the new plan is this...

Cheng will now teleport throughout the location, always changing location as he goes to make tracking him difficult. This also helps him cover more area in his search and makes it harder for Strucker to predict where to attack. This benefits Cheng in multiple ways.

1) There is a greater chance of Cheng finding Strucker to take over his mind and kill him.

2) There is a greater chance of Cheng dodging an attack if it is unseen, and thus, giving away Strucker's position.

It's still the same argument... can Cheng get close enough to Strucker to take over his mind and kill him? The rematch gives Cheng a bit more info on his foe so that he can prepare a bit better in the match itself. I think this just adds another level as to how he can indeed take over Strucker's mind and win the match.

Now... I know Strucker will also benefit from the rematch and he'll come better prepared, but finding and hitting an unpredictable target makes it very difficult for Strucker to capitolize on any plan he may have. So I think this rematch benefits both, but Cheng moreso than Strucker.

In the end Strucker may want to Death Spore Cheng, but Cheng is aware of Strucker's tricks and will be ready for it, reaching out with his mind upon arrival of every location he appears in. Strucker will have no time to react and he will then be forced to commit suicide and die.

Winner - Zhou Cheng

Bracket 3

Match 1:

Thialfi (AHURAMAZDA) link

thalfi.jpg

vs.

The Hood (RANDOMHAVOC) link

TheHood.jpg

This match will be over very quickly because Thialfi beyond having the average superhuman powers of an Asgardian warrior is also an Asgardian's version of a speedster and this one can go as fast as hermes who can travel fast enough to be invisible to a human eye.

This is a better profile of Thialfi:
Thialfi

The Hood is a villain who recently gainned magical abilites which would suggest he is being taken over by a demon.

Given Thialfi can knock out the Hood before the Hood has the time to even blink an eye would suggest to me that Thiali will speed through to victory.

Winner - Thialfi

Caliban's Bio:

*Caliban is a mutant with the ability to psionically sense other mutants out to several miles away and track their movements. He also has the ability to psionically sense, absorb, and turn the psionic energy of in the fear radiated by humans around them and to turn it against them, inducing more intense fear within their minds.

*He is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant, having been trained by Iceman and later Apocalypse.
All those great powers are in the past. Now he's kinda strong and can track dead mutants.....terrific.

Jaine Cutter vs Black Tom Cassidy

If this was the plant based Black Tom, Janie would have a serious problem on her hands. (Not an impossible fight since, seeing how Tom survives her claws and gun, she can take the most logical step to fighting a plant, setting him on fire.)

But, after M-Day, Black Tom lost his plant powers and is back to using his classic powerset of firing concussive force blasts through wood. Although there is some confusion if his original powers are through his primary mutation surviving M-Day, or technology he is now using (which he mentions at one point).

But, either way he is now using his original powerset, he no longer posses a serious threat to Jaine. Why? Because Jaine's second skin makes her pretty much invulnerable to all but powerful magical attacks.

Add to that claws that can cut through even angel bones, and the Breathing Gun that fires sentient bullets (which will still harm/kill Tom even though he's not a demon), and Tom is outmatched.

Jaine Cutter wins

Opening Debate: Thialfi vs. The Hood

Thialfi's Bio:

*Thialfi was given great wisdom and knowledge by the almighty Odin along with the speed to outrun any enemy. Thialfi’s body was also transformed into that of an Asgardian male which benefited him with superhuman strength, endurance and durability.

*Thialfi has displayed skills in sword fighting and unarmed combat using his speed to his advantage.

The Hood's Bio:

*The mystical boots and cloak he wears allow him to perform many superhuman abilities. When wearing the boots, the Hood can walk on air. While wearing the cloak, and only while holding his breath, the Hood can turn invisible. At least once, the cloak allowed Robbins to fire a sort of electrical energy from his hands.

*Robbins has the ability to transform into a demon when under duress, gaining physical strength and speed to match Wolverine in one-on-one combat. In this demon form, his voice changes and he can sprout spikes from his hands.

*During Secret Invasion, the Hood discovers his power comes from the mystical entity, Dormammu.

What works to The Hood's advantage is you can discover who these Asgardian gods are by simply logging onto a computer. So, while Thialfi will be clueless as to who The Hood is, The Hood will know Thialfi's basic powerset and be able to go from there.

Winner = The Hood

Jaine Cutter wins

Ok, I thought this was pre-M-Day...but, seeing as he has his original powerset (Not sure how this is possible, since it's his mutant power...go figure), he doesn't really stand a chance in this match.

Baron Strucker vs Zhou Chang

A rematch between these two heavily favors Strucker because he's now seen all of Chang's tricks, and can use his massive resources to prepare for this next match.

And the key to this match? Sensors, and long range weapons.

With some type of scanner (preferably one that looks for lifesigns), Strucker can always keep track of where Chang is. And with the powerful weapons he has access to, he can pick Chang off, bombarding him with attacks while staying well away from his opponent.

Now, there's still the issue of Chang being able to teleport. Problem is, if Chang teleports in close enough to fight, Strucker's Death Spores will take care of him.

As is so often the case, massive resources and prep-time will win the day.

Baron Strucker wins
