yep.... i think Craig will have to go with Black hair .. no question about it

Yeah, cos Roger "Brown hair" Moore was totally shunned by the movie going public.

Black hair isn't going to make Craig look any more like Bond.

He looks rougher. Brosnan just seems to effeminate for the Casino Royale story. Clove Owen seems like a good choice too though.

Brown hair is a lot closer to black hair than blonde. There are very differnt connotations with blonde hair, like it or not.

Pretty much all the news stations that I get up here in Toronto, Canada are reporting Daniel Craig as the new James Bond. So either they are all just jumping on the bandwagon (even though EON denied making a decision yet) or it's leaked and they want to announce it on their terms.

Personally, Goran Visnic looks the part but can't act, Daniel Craig doesn't look the part, but has acting skills, can we somehow mold these two people into one. Oh wait, that would give us Pierce Brosnan. As for the other 8 or so men who screentested, Craig must have pulled a rabbit out of his a$$ if he landed the role.

I guess we'll have to wait and see if this turns out like OHMSS.

Today on 'Around the Horn' on ESPN they talked about Craig being a blonde Bond.

PTI made fun of Daniel Craig pretty good. Wilbolm called Craig bald and ugly and Kornheiser kept on calling Sean Connery, "Jim Connely," which was pretty hilarious.

Speaking as a female, Craig is far too ugly for Bond. Isn't Bond supposed to be really hot? I've always felt so...Craig just doesn't have it. I was hoping for Jude Law. Oh well. I'll still see Craig's first movie anyway no doubt.

My dad doesn't like Daniel Craig grom the clips they show on TV, my dad's the everyman he likes XXX, Catwoman to movies like Aviator, Sideways, Punch-Drunk Love, etc so I don't know if this is going do well, I don't see the public taking well to him especially since a lot of people love Pierce...

I am all for Craig as Bond. It gives a new take on a long running character, without changing him way to much. His looks are kind of a mix of Sean Connery and Timolthy Dalton. But he has this harsh looking quality to him, he looks like he'd have no problem killing you, which is something we haven't really seen since Connery helmed.

I'm glad he is also not that young, so the whole 'restart' thing can go out the window and there is no problem just making this a continuation.

Horray for Bond without cgi or invisible cars, this is going to be the best bond movie since Goldeneye restarted the series. And with the Goldeney director, i don't think that prediciton is to far off.

C'mon final casting announcement

Jude Law is too famous, and not masculine enough. I don,t think Craig has the right look either, but James Bond has to be attractive AND masculin.

Guy Hamilton directed Goldfinger and Diamonds are Forever. A good director is no guarantee of a good Bond.

It was just on ABC news too. Give the guy a chance, I thought he was brilliant in Layer Cake and Road to Perdition. He can definitely act, I just hope the filmakers take the next one in a new direction, shake up the formula little bit.

I also would have liked Ewan McGregor as a "Moore-ish" James Bond, but I am 100% happy with the Craig  (That's right, I'm calling him "The Craig")

Sony Pictures Entertainment said Wednesday that the studio will announce the actor who will play James Bond in director Martin Campbell's Casino Royale on Friday, October 14, at a news conference in London.

Reuters says no further details were disclosed, and the mystery remains over who will star in the film franchise that has grossed nearly $4 billion at global box offices since the first Bond film, Dr. No, hit the silver screen in 1962.

Reports in London have identified English actor Daniel Craig, who recently starred in Layer Cake, as the new Bond, but that could not be confirmed.

The new actor will succeed Pierce Brosnan, who first played 007 in 1995's GoldenEye, also directed by Campbell, and ended his run with 2002's Die Another Day. Four others have portrayed James Bond, including Sean Connery, Roger Moore, George Lazenby and Timothy Dalton.

Casino Royale is scheduled to begin production in January for an October 19, 2006 release.
