Please. Shrugging it off because it's not the exact same job? The characteristics of these two characters bear more than a passing similarity. Someone who works for the justice system seeking their own brand of justice after hours while battling their own demons. Why would Hall even want to repeat himself?

For that very reason may well why he would want to do it - it's familiar yet [despite your claim to the contrary] different. Anyways, what TV star wouldnt want to get their hands on a breakout role of a Marvel superhero in their own movie [with a potential franchise down the road]?

Anyways, if Hollywood followed your mantra, half the leading men wouldnt play half the characters that they do and some of the most iconic characters commited to film wouldve been played by totally different actors.

Yeah, but one is to do with the ethical side of things and professional conduct (ie beating up criminals). The other is just to do with competency as a lawyer.

I don't remember exactly what it was as I haven't watched it for a few years, but I remember thinking at the time that this was something so basic that only a novice law student would make that mistake, and if Matt Murdock were still making that mistake he wouldn't have passed the Bar exams. The only reason someone would write it that way is because he obviously didn't have any legal background or experience.

And while the main focus is not on the courtroom, you'd expect them to get at least a small detail like this correct otherwise it just looks not credible and sounds like it was written by a teenager. It would be the equivalent of someone who is supposed to be an experienced and critically acclaimed writer not knowing the grammatical difference between "you're" and "your" or using "would of" instead of "would've".

I really don't remember because it's been years since I last watched it and don't even remember what happened in parts of the film. It could well be, or that Matt Murdock was using leading questions on his own witness when it wasn't cross examination, or giving testimony or making the equivalent of an opening/closing speech right in the middle of the trial or something. I just remember at the time that the moment I saw the relevant scene that i thought it looked ridiculous and didn't ring accurate at all.

It was as if the writer just had seen bits and pieces of Perry Mason without understanding what was going on and where everything fits and constructed a scene out of that.

Well whatever it was, I think the new creative team is going to put a more authentic take on the legal aspect of Matt's world, assuming they do tackle it. But then again I'm a big fan of "Suits", so I must confess to have to be quicker to turn a blind eye to shoddy lawyering.

Not with the legal aspects. While we're at the subject of Suits, if he hadn't portrayed another superhero already I would've thrown in Gabriel Macht's name into the ring for the reboot. Harvey is pretty much an expy of Matt, if not a tad more *****y.

....? So? it's not like Sam Jackson, Rebecca romaijn, Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johanson, idris Alba and Chris Evans have never been in more than one comic film...... And nobody even went to see the spirit... Lol

Seeing as you don't remember what it was, it seems pointless to go on about it.


Personally, I hated seeing them working the Quesada case altogether. Why were they (N&M) even there? They're defense attorneys, and even if that were not true, a rape case would be prosecuted by the state.

Like many others, I also long for a Daredevil film that really embraces the law side of things. The case/s they work should be as compelling (if not moreso) than the superhero stuff. I'd also prefer a version of Matt who uses the Daredevil personae only to help with stuff he can't do as Matt (eg: getting info out of scumbags), rather than just seeing him murdering people who beat him in court.

It's so got a long wait. The article mentioned things coming together after 2014s first class sequel. So most likely 2015
